Douglas Murray just scored his 4th of the season to give the Sharks an early 1-0 lead.

Moulson just netted one in the skills competition, dog and pony show part of the Isles Habs game. According to Howie Rose on the broadcast, he's 4/7 this year.

O'Byrne laid a bit hit on Moulson during the third period of the Isles-Habs game.

Moulson with his 29th on the PP in Iles 7-1 loss to the Devils. Can he make it 30 in his final game?

I was at the Devils game. Moulson looked good, I was impressed with his poise and passing. Skating looked fine, he looked like he belongs in the NHL. Unlike many of his teammates who are simply horrible. Tavares was not impressive tonight at all. And Freddy Meyer.........just no.

Just got home from the Devils game. Got to see the Devils clinch the Atlantic division and score a touchdown (including the extra point), and if Marty wasn't getting a shutout, there's no one else I would've picked to score for the fishsticks. While a lot of their team didn't come to play, mostly it was Biron who was simply awful. I thought 5 of the 7 Devils goals were soft, so that's hardly an indictment on the team in front of him. Couldn't believe Scott Gordon left him in the whole game.

Moulson makes it 30 goals even in his last game of the year, with a PPG in the Isles' 6-5 OT loss to Pittsburgh. Congrats to Matt on a tremendous season!

Is Moulson a UFA? I thought he had a one year deal with the Islanders. I would hope that he'd be able to get a two to three year deal with a little more security. He has size and good hands, it's not like he's going to fall of the face of the earth like Mark Parrish or Shawn Horcoff. Good for Matt, he showed resolve on a largely spiritless team.

Capgeek has him listed as a RFA after the 1 year deal.

I prefer to think we were spiritedly pursuing a high draft pick.

This could have gone in Post-Season thread, or Senior Class Award, but why not here, after all he is negotiating with Ottawa. An article, via the ECAC site, from the St. John's, NL Telegram on Greening.

Atta boy, the glass is half full! So what are they going to give Matt after a 30 goal season? 2 years, $4mm? I have no idea, just guessing........they need to see more before they break the bank.

In my utterly unbiased opinion he's ideal for a 2 year contract plus an option, the way the Isles are currently positioned. They do need to see him do it again, but if he does he comes cheap. He has that built-in relationship with Tavares. He continued to produce despite some linemate swapping over the last couple months.

We (the Isles "we";) need youth, production and reasonable salary expectations from the supporting cast while we raise the spate of high draft picks we've, um, earned. Matt is all three.
