Division I Men's Players of the Week
February 11, 2003
Offensive Player of the Week
Matt Moulson — Cornell
Despite breezing through most of the nation, No. 3 Cornell hadn't won against Dartmouth in eight games. "The streak" haunted the program until Matt Moulson, the USCHO.com Offensive Player of the Week, decided to end it.
On Friday, Moulson scored his first career hat trick with a goal in each period and added an assist as well to lead the Big Red to a 6-1 victory. His showmanship increased with each tally, culminating in an attack around, and between, two defenders for a spectacular goal. The next night against Vermont, Moulson chipped in a goal and an assist in an 8-1 rout to cap off a six-point weekend.
The freshman forward from Mississauga, Ont., now has 11 goals and seven assists on the year, and is tied for 12th nationally in overall points per game among freshmen.
Runners-up
Brett Sterling, F, Colorado College
Greg Kealey, F, Holy Cross

WTG, Matt!
It's hard to pick a premier offensive performer for the Big Red on any given weekend. This one was no exception. Knoepfli had a five assist weekend. Mark McRae had one goal and four assists. A total of 15 Big Red players were involved in scoring. This spread of talent and production make it hard for anyone to standout. Matt, however, had a dominant weekend, especially against Dartmouth. His third goal was exciting and impressive.
Again, good job, Matt!

Does this mean the Pep Band will now also play the jingle from Molson for Moulson?

Ryan Vesce also had a goal and four assists -- all but one assist were against Dartmouth.

Well, there is the "I Am Canadian" Anthem that Molson put in ads in Canada (oddly enough). It's a pretty catchy song.

What does Molson send south of the border? Funny labels!
