Much as it's fun to see, methinks the pollsters have done overreacted just a bit. Third or fourth, I'll grant, but Maine and CC splitting with top 10 teams is not exactly a tragic letdown. And the NoDak fans on USCHO must be going apesh*t.

Since the pollsters rarely see us play (or our opponents for that matter) the 14-2 weekend probably impressed some folks more than it should have.
5+ goal wins are rare in D1, regardless of the quality of opposition, and to have two in one weekend can look very impressive. I agree that a weekend bloodbath over the ECAC's chaff would not have been enough for me to take away CC's #1 vote because of its loss to a top 10 team.

I think we picked the right weekend to rock the opposition (just as everybody else was dropping a game).
Whatever, it's nice. Hope Cornell plasters it all over Ryan O'Bryne's mailbox.

Never thought I'd enjoy saying "We are No. 2" this much )
This is awesome, no matter how you look at it. It will make our New England road trip that much more fun, knowing what is at stake.
Let's Go Red!

As we all know the polls mean nothing come postseason, but given that let's appreciate this for a second and then forget about it.
Is this the first time Cornell has been as high as #2 in either poll?
Anyways, let's hope the guys focus on the New England trip and don't let this go to their heads. As they've proven before, I doubt it will affect their performance. Both games have implications for our PWR and a good result could solidify our spot.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that this is the first time Cornell has been ranked so high this late in the season. The Big Red was once picked #2 in a pre-season poll by The Hockey News, before the 90-91 season (oog).
