Polls continue to baffle as a Dartmouth loss moves us up (yes up) to #9 in the USCHO poll. I mean a lot of teams lost, but we lost to #49 in the RPI Dartmouth ... We passed UMD and CC who both got swept. North Dakota moves past us into 8th.

Well, if nothing else the polls may give us ammo to complain that "we got screwed!" and "PWR is messed up" if we don't make the tournament. Not that I could make those arguments in good faith. But still.

Pollsters probably bought into the "basketball pep band" theory and chose not to fault the team. Or they were too busy watching Olympic Ice Dancing to have noticed the Saturday night results.

You're right, the polls do have a reason after all.

Well it is easy to dwell on such an abysmal loss to D'mouth...we did win over 'Gate and Sucks, and the Yale loss being only one goal late...looks ok to someone sitting in Minnesota voting....even though we know it should have been 5-1.
