Gary Bettman

I just saw on USCHO.com that Bettman was also at the game last night. He musta really been upstaged by Reno! Did anyone see him there?

Ha, I not only saw him, I convinced him to conduct the victory song with the Pep Band. He was in the 7th row of Section I.

Of course, if you are one of who leaves the second the game ends, you wouldn't have seen it.

There is no Section I. He was sitting in Section J. A little ways into the 2nd period, some fans sitting behind me in Section H pointed him out to us. He was trying to be inconspicuous, and I think he was with his family. I was sitting with a Hartford Whaler fan who went over and had a conversation with him about the Whalers during the 2nd intermission.

I believe part of the band played "Brass Bonanza" as he was getting ready to conduct the Schaefer beer song. [www.brassbonanza.com]

And his freshman son goes to Cornell, not his daughter.

His daughter did go to Cornell; I believe she has graduated.

If you look in the directory, there are two Bettman's... a "Lauren Gayle" who has graduated, and the gender incognito "Jordan Alex" who currently lives on North, and must be a freshman (or I suppose the slim chance of an RA). Of course, Bettman isn't a horribly rare name, so one could be not related.

Gary Bettman, along with his son and wife were down talking to Coach Schafer and staff after the game. He was at Homecoming last year, and when asked, said the reason for his visit was that he was "visiting the campus with his son."

I saw him there Friday nite. My wife and I (Class of '86) flew up from Atlanta for both weekend games and we saw him at the Hotel, including his NHL bags as he was checking out.

maybe the senators can move to ithaca (didnt mean to steal that one from the commentator who said it after the game but i thought it was funny)
