Dustin Mowrey, Cornell class of '14, is having an excellent year for Victoria in the BCHL, 50 games 28-27 55.
According to Heisenberg, he committed to Cornell in September. Here's a video report from 12/31/09 which mentions his "scholarship" to Cornell.

Yes, he's having a fantastic year. He was recruited by a few schools (most notably also Yale). Last year he played on the 4th line, mostly in an energy/checking role. This year he's been in the top 5-10 in goal scoring in the BCHL, with almost all the players ahead of him much older. He's a great pickup.

Apparently you can buy character, at least with a Cornell "scholarship."

Anywho, I hope he lives up to his promises. Good forwards are always in short supply.

Edit: I don't mean any disrespect to the player. Just the athletic financial aid policy we have vs rest of the Ivies... On one hand, I want us to have the best players, but on the other, I don't want the quality of our student body to be compromised because we lowered the bar to admit these athletes and denied admission to some very bright people. In any case, I'm glad our recruitment efforts are still on-par with expectations. Can't wait for Andy Iles.

If he scored 55 pts at CU, I wouldn't care if he committed securities fraud.

Well a conviction on securities fraud would probably cut into his game availability.

No, he'd just have to play with an ankle bracelet.

This seems as good a place as any: A McKeens interview with Dustin Mowrey's future classmate, Mathieu Brisson:

Those things are never discovered in real time. As long as he was able to graduate and endow a chair for pep band conductor, all is good.

That's more Harvard material.

An article about the Victoria Grizzlies preparing kids to get US scholarships, surprising only in that it is an article in a Canadian newspaper that acknowledges that Dustin Mowrey's getting need-based financial aid, not an athletic scholarship:
