Interesting CU tradition let out of the bag in this IJ article. Don't quit reading once you get to the Ithaca High portion. There's more on college hockey at the end. Now this would be an interesting flow sheet for TBRW?. In fact maybe that's a good ongoing poll for eLynah. Who deserved the hat after each game?

* The bug that hit roughly two-thirds of the Cornell men just prior to their North Country trip has passed. Schafer said there were talks with the league about what to do if they didn't have enough healthy players to play. It ended up not being an issue because they had enough healthy players after Friday's morning skate.
Bet that makes Clarkson feel great.

yeah, well losing to an unhealthy cornell team doesn't hurt as much as getting crushed by colgate the next night...

Actually I don't mean to kick you when you're down. Cornell has had seasons (87, 93, 95) where we just wanted to slog it out.Dpperk29

I recall hearing about this hard hat in the past...so perhaps the cat has been out of the bag for a while now.

I remember the interviewer asking Scrivens about it on tv. Scrivens seemed to be taken aback by the question, but he answered it forthrightly.

I think that was UNH game that ESPNU televised. I haven't gone back to re-watch the interview to confirm. But like you, it seemed like I had heard about that before the link was posted on ELF.
