Judy took the picture, but she was wearing her Sawada jersey under her coat for the first two periods and over it for the third. There was also an old guy at the end of our row wearing a Cornell sweatshirt. (We were behind the scorer's table both nights.)

Perusing on USCHO, Saturday's loss was indeed their 13th NC loss in a row (including a NC loss to Dartmouth, but not including ECAC playoff games). Their last NC win was 2/4/08 over Northeastern - shockingly, a Beanpot win! Their only two NC remaining this year are the Beanpot games, and their first round opponent this year is BC, easily the strongest team in the 'pot this year - no way they should win that game. They'll at least have a shot in the consolation.Trotsky

Clarkson beat and tied Huntsville this weekend.
Robert Morris, which earned a split with Q back when Q was good, beat #1 Miami on Friday.
SLU(t) lost to Niagara last night.
For purposes of comparison, Wisconsin beat the U-18 team 7-1. Iles didn't play.

Quinnipiac dropped out of the Top 25 in RPI (to 27) and is not currently a TUC for Pairwise. They have the same winning percentage as Cornell but a lower strength of schedule. RPI is at no.

I watched some of the game on TV and was wondering why the announcer kept referring to the "great rivalry between these two schools." Does he know something we don't know about the storied rivalry between Princeton and RPI?

I made a similar comment on the game thread on USCHO. There is no particular rivalry between RPI and Princeton. The announcers weren't particularly bad, but tended to exaggerate about many things. It was nice to see RPI win a nationally televised game for a change, and also to see RPI's power play much improved over its 8.7% last year and 7.1% two years ago.dbilmes

The only game of note that comes to mind is the 1995 ECAC Championship. (Both teams had to pull off upsets to get there.)

Not worth a new topic: Harvard hosts Yale tonight (1/12) at 7 PM
One poster on USCHO says "THIS IS HARVARD's SUPER BOWL" and this person is "confident that BOTH teams will bring their A-games, and that Yale's A-game beats Harvard's."

Harvard being less useless than usual tonight, leading Yale 3-1 in the third. The WHRB announcers are more mouth-breathier than usual -- one of them sounds like Peter Lorre as a teenager.

It'll likely be in the ECAC untill the NCAA tournament. Unless Sucks manages to beat Dartmouth, Union, RPI, and Princeton. If they can pull that off, it'll probably end up in Hockey East (via their loss to BC in the Beanpot).
Edit: OK there are a couple ways that it can still go to HE, but they require almost as many Harvard wins as they currently have.
And Harvard Sucks!!!

It's really a shame that the ECAc lets everyone into the tournament because if they didn't we could hope for one of the bottom feeders to pull off a final game win and end up with the belt all the way though the playoffs.Jeff Hopkins '82

That can currently only happen if one of the HEA teams that doesn't make the playoffs has The Belt at the end of the season. I add that there currently is an Alternate Belt that Wisconsin received when they defeated Yale in a shootout recently. The Belt, itself, doesn't transfer via shootouts.KeithK
