I just wanted to bump this up now that the time is almost upon us. Are any DC folks planning on attending?

Gosh this sounds interesting, but I'm all the way down in the Hampton Roads area. It's a 3 hour drive (roughly, depending on traffic) up to DC. Maybe I will check around this area and see if some sports bar has it.

I'll be there with my wife. Looking forward to it, as I havent been able to see any games this year.
By the way Chris '02, are you in the Navy? I was stationed down in Va Beach/Norfolk for 4 years, and just left the area last year.

Judy, I've been there for previous CCW satellite events, but I won't be going to this one. Please forgive me: It was the promise of watching this game at home (and the upcoming playoffs) that got me to buy DirecTV's ridiculously overpriced "Sports Pack" add-on.
I will, however, throw in a plug for the Crystal City Sports Pub. It's about as pleasant a representative of the sports bar species as you're gonna find in the DC area. I went there a lot to watch the Minnesota Vikings in the dark days after my favorite DC Vikings bar abandoned us back in the early 1990s (and before I got the NFL ticket for meself). CCSP is a lot bigger than some of the previous venues used for CCW hockey gatherings (as much as I like the hockey vibe in The Penalty Box in Alexandria, it was just too damned crowded). Also, that part of 23rd Street is NOT the sterile, modern, empty, neue-Dresden neighborhood you imagine when you think of Crystal City. For me, it was a surprise. I think DC area Cornell folks will enjoy it.

Does anyone know if they were able to get a special room for this? The CCW newsletter said that if enough people rsvp, we could get our own space. Anyone know the resolution?
