Athletics notes that "This marks the first time in exactly two years that a Cornell player has been named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week. The last Cornellian to do so was Cam Abbott, who received the honor on Jan. 3, 2006, following his play in the 2005 Florida College Classic."

I think most people would agree that his line mates are a big part of his recent success. Topher is a great play maker and Ray's scoring threat certainly complement Mike's skills nicely.

Which is really good news because it suggests that we might now have two potent offensive lines. Lots of teams have one good scoring line. If we can get a second that would be great.

I'd have to disagree on this one...

Maybe it was just a slow change, but there was a moment on Saturday where Sawada was barreling down the ice with a Kennedy on each wing, but either the play was offside or there was an errant pass. Anyway, was that a line during the game, at least sometimes?lynah80

I don't recall seeing this line at all. Perhaps you're remembering an earlier game? Schafer did have Sawada on a line with both Kennedys for several of the games before the holiday break, but I distinctly remember Sawada-Scott-Kennedy together for the duration of both Niagara games, and forming the core of one of the pp units as well.

Seems to me the Nash-Greening-P. Kennedy line usually followed the Scott-Sawada-M. Kennedy line in the rotation, so it could well have been the result of a partial line change.Trotsky

So, what part do you disagree with?

I'm pretty sure this is the first time a Cornellian has received this award.
