NCAA Playoff Tickets....

Go on sale next Friday (12/20) for the 3 games of the "Northeast
Regional" that will be played in Worcester on 3/28/03 (doubleheader)
and 3/29/03. It's $50 per ticket for the three games, plus the $10 or whatever charge Ticketmaster adds on.

No word on when tickets for the "East Regional" in Providence (3/29 &
3/30) go on sale.

You could technically see 2 teams qualify for the Frozen Four on back-
to-back nights if you went to both -- Saturday night in Worcester and
Sunday night in Providence.

As for which location the Big Red will be placed -- I have no clue?

You mean would be placed, right? :-D
It doesn't count as woofing if someone not affiliated with a school makes a potentially woof-like comment right?
(and thanks for the info)

Nobody will know if/where Cornell will be placed until the selection show. Even if they went into the draw 33-1, they could theoretically go to either eastern site based on the demographics of the other selections.

Sorry, Cowbell, didn't mean to put the Tourney bid before the horse. B-]

Oh, and, uh, if you want to purchase Worcester tickets today on Ticketmaster you need a password. And, uh, you didn't hear this from me, but the password is those "silver things" that touch the ice that allow players to skate. ;-)

If last year is any indication, there is no real need to rush and buy tickets (for Worcester at least). I think I bought them after we beat RPI at Placid and still had fine seats (plus moving to better seats wasn't really a problem).

I agree. I have advance ticket orders pending for the Pepsi ECAC tourney. As of now they are not opening up the upper deck for the ECACs. This sucks to say the least as my favorite seats are up there.

If the tourney does draw well they may be forced to open them up and then we will have many many seats to choose from.

Marty, polite request here.

Could we refrain from propagating corporate sponsorships where they don't belong? The bowl games are bad enough. Besides, given the ECAC budget, we probably could have pooled our money and made it the Lynah North ECAC Tourney :-))

Are you referring to the use of the word Pepsi?

There is no Pepsi ECAC tourney. I mistyped. The ECAC tourney is at the Pepsi (nee Knickerbocker) Arena. I didn't name it and I don't drink the stuff. nut

then there's also the option of buying tickets directly from cornell, though this involves either getting to teh athletic ticket office a few hours early (as we did for placid last yr), or calling right on time (which is what i did for worcester, since we were home on spring break when CU got the NCAA bid). i dunno if they give preference to students or what, but we got second row seats to placid and 8th row seats to worcester, both in the main cornell section.

so possibly there's no need to rush for playoff tickets-- whatever level cornell makes will be sold through the school, or at least some will.

i mean, in the event of an appearance in buffalo this year, i am banking on buying through cornell, early in the morning.

yeah...again, I'm a tool. I thought that there would be more demand for the placid tickets last year, so I was the lone camper outside of Bartells that night. Oh well, I was quite pleased with my front row seats and I did get some company starting at about 7am(tickets went on sale at 9am).

Though anyone with a real distaste for Pepsi can go to the other Knickerbocker Arena in nearby Troy to watch Pee Wee hockey.

so my question is, does cornell sell estero tickets? there's a slim chance i could go, and it would be nice to be in the official cornell section. anyone know what the ath dept is doing with that?

From the "anyone going to estero" thread:

[Q]We recently decided to attend the Everblades Tournament. I checked with Sue Detzer about tickets. She told me that the unsold tickets from Cornell's allotment have been sent back. Cornell will be seated in and around Section 108. The Ticket Office number is: 941-948-7825, ext. 1500.[/Q]
