Nice start.

And tonight the video looks great with VLC on Linux. I think I must have switched to Windows last night coincidentally with the Cornell end getting its act together.

Thanks to Avash:

Krueger, M. Devin, and Berk for Cornell (in the first 8 mins of the first period).

David Marshall (5x4 PPG), Ben Nelson (the 5x3 PPG), and Mike Atkinson (penalty shot) for Quinnipiac.

3rd period

0:13 Barlow, Greening

10:48 Mugford, Devin, Nichols

In either case, I like it!

Couple times, as Cornell attacks right to left, the cameera doesn't pan far enough left to stay with the action.

And I do wish the camera was on a tripod about 3 feet higher.

Where have you been for the past two years?

Then you'd be lucky if the cameraman pointed the camera anywhere near the ice.

Berk took a 5 minute major. Sawada took a minor during it which led to a 5x3 goal, now a penalty shot for Q ties it up.

Trust me, it's a lock, up 2 goals with five, six minutes to play. Other than say going up 5-2 on Wisconsin starting the third period of the NCAA semis, no way, no way could we collapse. But that Wisconsin game was a while ago.

krantz has played awful tonight

You're referring to his skating the puck out in front of the goal with plenty of Qpac forecheckers in his face? Where the announcers ascribed his path as forced by the slew of white sweaters near him?

Yes, among other mistakes

HR reminds us those are not mistakes, but opportunities for personal growth.
In the current administration, he'd be worthy of a: "You're doing a heckuva job, Krantzie.";-)

Cornell survives a minute plus of 6 on 5 and wins 5-3. Way to go.

Good that ENG (almost) trickler didn't go in because the camera wasn't able to pan to follow the puck's, what, 5 mph trajectory?

Empty net for Quinnipiac, right? ;-)

Yes. You forgot to sign your post.

Would have been very uncool to start a four-Ivy-and-ECAC-game road trip with an 0-3 record.

The video is a HUGE improvement over CSTV. My one complaint, other than no pp clock, would be that the cameraman seems to zone out every once in a while.

Agree...but, given where we've come from, this is caviar instead of rotten eggs.

Agreed X2. Its much better. The camera work last year was distinctly worse, where apparently the goal was to zoom into the guy with the puck close enough to guarantee you'd never see what happened when he passed or shot it.

Yeah, the camera man does zone out some time, but its still a welcome improvement.

Yeah, I get it, Kyle: I'm a bad fan. This is a game thread: who scored the goals?
BTSOM.1 If it makes you happier, I won't start another game thread after tonight's performance.
This is going to seem like a huge delay, but I'm writing from Paris, your message was at around 1:30AM, and just as I read it, the browser on this borrowed computer crashed AGAIN.2 Throw in a blown three goal lead and I didn't have the energy to reboot this POS to NOT follow the game.

In any event, I wasn't specifically asking for Kyle to update the goal scorers. It was a cry in the dark for SOMEONE to post the scorers,3 the penalties, the time remaining, etc. Though it is nice when the initial post becomes a boxscore, that isn't what I was requesting.

I don't think that I'm the only person who reads the game threads of the games I miss before reading the recap on USCHO or CU's site. It is a neat thrill to "follow" the game through the eyes of the Faithful. This is my little thing and I don't expect people to write more for my benefit. But if someone is going to open eLF to type "yay!", why not "yay! (kreuger)"?

1 This is not a great advertisement for the video I should be buying.
2 You think last night made you hate Dell, oceanst41?
3 Thanks Avash and all who posted in the third period.

It was perfectly clear from the call and from Arthur's announcement... I simply forgot by then.
