In other Sharks news, Douglas Murray leads the team in +/-. He is a +9. Joe Thornton and Milan Michalek are tied for second at +5. Kyle McLaren's +! is the second best +/- among Sharks defensemen.

Sharks @ Phoenix for their 3rd meeting in the last week or so. 2-0 Sharks after a very fast moving 1st period. Murray is a +2 and has an assist on the Marleau goal.

Looks like he's on a line with O'Sullivan and Frolov.

Pretty terrible game for the Kings, but Moulson did pick up an assist. I'm pretty sure he was on the ice for at least one of the Duckso goals.

A letter written by Moulson to his high school newsletter when he found out he was going to Cornell. Interesting background on his hockey career and how he went from the "worst player in Toronto" to being what we knew him as. Disregard the comment about his "full ride" scholarship at the top though. :)

Doug Murray just beat Chris Pronger on a faceoff to start overtime. It was 3-on-3 so each team only had one forward out and each got kicked out of the dot.

Douglas wins the OT opening faceoff against Pronger.

They didn't say athletic scholarship.

Very impressive...more so that they played Murray for the 3-on-3!

Murray is currently #8 among D in Fantasy Hockey scoring. Pick him up if available.

I guess Matt likes the coffee in LA and doesn't want to leave.

He just scored a goal to make it a 1-1 game in the first period. :-)

Murray and Moulson line up against each other when the Kings visit the Sharks tonight. Might be fun to watch for anyone with access to it.

Murray +1 after the first on a Joe Thornton goal. Moulson had one shot attempt blocked in five shifts. 1-0 Sharks.

Murray pretty much responsible for a Kings SHG b/c he turns it over at his own blue line. Unfortunately Moulson didn't score the goal.

Murray was getting power play time?

(Not anymore, I guess.)

The AP story blames the goal on Nabakov:

Los Angeles tied it with a short-handed goal midway through the second period on a blunder by the Sharks' stalwart goalie, who has played in every game this season. Kopitar alertly followed up Brown's breakaway by poking the puck past Nabokov, who lost sight of it."
But if you were watching I'll trust you.

The original turnover that led to the breakaway was Murray's fault. He also stood around doing nothing as Kopitar skated in while Nabakov stood around pretending he caught the puck. Yeah, Nabokov should've covered the puck but overall Murray can take a lot of blame.

I was at the game. Goal was almost entirely Nabakov's fault. The Kings player on the breakaway shot right into Nabakov right as a tripping penalty was being called. The puck dropped to the goalie's skate, and everybody on the ice thought that the play had stopped. The goalie stood up, all the players stopped skating, etc..., but then Kings player 2 realized that no whistle had been blown, so he skated up and poked the puck in with no resistance. Nabakov realized what was happening just a little too late.
