fire it up!
fromHockeyjournal.com
Six-foot-four forward Byron Bitz graduated this spring from Cornell with a degree in business. For a while, it looked like his next order of business wouldn’t be with the Bruins, who drafted Bitz 107th overall in 2003. But days before camp opened, he put his name on the dotted line.
“It wasn’t too bad,” Bitz said of the wait to close a deal. “It could’ve been worse, waiting until mid-August or something to see where I was going to be.”
Even though it took a little longer than expected to get a deal done, Bitz knew the Bruins wanted him. After all, he’d run into Bruins Director of Player Development Don Sweeney a few times during the season.
“He gave a few things that I need to work on and stuff,” Bitz explained.
Also in camps:
Moulson for LA Kings: doing well, getting goals and getting no respect.
Pokulok for DC: still missing out on some contact drills.
Still no word on McCutchen or Carefoot. anyone else?

From Binghamton Press and Sun today:
The Times Herald in Port Huron reported this week that former B-Sens defenseman Charlie Cook and center Ryan Vesce have both signed to play for Helsinki IFK in Finland next season.
. . .
Vesce ranked fourth on Binghamton in scoring last season with 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists), and Cook shared top defenseman honors with Neil Petruic in the end-of-the-year team awards.

In other Cornell / Euro hockey news, Knoepfli transfered to Lugano in the Swiss league (from Geneve-Servette).

unlike McKee, who has been erased from the Ducks website, Cook and Vesce are still on Ottawa's. Do they still retain the rights to Cook/Vesce?
I also noticed that Collin Greening is #2 on the Sen's Depth Chart, and #1 for prospects (left wings).
