For those that don't get the reference...back at the Cornell @ Colgate game in the 2003-04 season, in their typical assholishness, the Colgate student fans decided to toss some of the free pizza (that they had been given as an enticement to show up for the game) at the Cornell fans. (Fittingly, I think they also ended up hitting some of the few Colgate fans unlucky enough to be in the visiting section.)

I still can't figure out why the guy did that. The fan that was hit with the ball helped keep the Angels' player from catching the ball. All I can think of is that the dumbass was thinking that the play hurt the Sox and not the Angels.
Don and Jerry thought it was absolutely hilarious and kept going back to the video over and over.

Well, c'mon, if the guy had good decision making skills he wouldn't be a Red Sox fan.

Word is they had an argument earlier in the game and that foul ball presented a good opportunity to get revenge.

OK, I thought it was amusing, if anything, and probably worth :30 of yuks on PTI. But is it really deserving of the following description?

Yep. Shut down the internet. I haven't had time to breathe. My knees are bruised from all the slapping. Comedy has reached its zenith when that one dude threw food at the other dude.
yesterday’s pizza tossing incident in the stands at Fenway Park was also roll-on-the-floor, gut-busting hilarious...One AOL blogger put it best: “As far as I'm concerned, you can shut down the internet. This is the best thing we'll see here all year.”

Pretty much. They didn't even insult each other very well, other than the "your mother" blast.

At least those Sox tickets that are so hard to come by are going to the deserving.

I'm glad foul balls were easier to come by back in the 80's!
My Grandpa George took me to a game at Fenway in July 1983, Sox v. A's and we had tickets on the first base line. Tony Peters of the A's hit a foul ball and it landed right on my Grandpa's hip (he had some padding there, so it didn't hurt ). I still have the ball prominently displayed on my bookcase. Yesterday was my late Grandpa George's birthday, so the ball, and the story and memories behind it, are fresh in my mind.
