Screw BU sign

Does anybody know who I should talk to about posting a large Screw BU sign by the scoreboard for this weekend's upcoming games? We were planning on spraypainting a twin white bedsheet (best price we could get was $9 at Target, so far), like that Cambridge Community College sign that someone made up last year, and hanging it by the board where those "Welcome to Big Red Country" posters were last year. Any suggestions?

They will not let you hang anythin that is negative in the rink. As the mentioned "Welcome Cambridge Community College" sign was held by hand in the stands. Coach had no problem when we hung the "Big Red Country" sign b/c it was positive for Cornell. The best you'll be able to do is hold it in the stands before the game starts.

Clearly, BU doesn't have the same rule, given the "SIEVE" sign that hangs over the visitors' goal at Walter Brown for one or two periods...

OK...now...Mike...I completely appreciate your enthusiasm for all of this....signs...T-shirts...and the like. We all know that all of the other teams (especially Hah-vahd and BU) suck...and we're the best...

Maybe you should write a letter to BU asking them if you can hang the sheet behind their bench.... Maybe the BU university president will make their captain skate out holding the 'Screw BU' sign.

Sorry...just a little sarcastic humor... But...I just don't think that a University can 'officially' allow derogatory signs to be posted...that are aimed at a specific opponent. And even further, I don't think any university will 'officially' allow you to use their name in a derogatory way. The key to these is the word 'officially'. Make all of the derogatory signs and t-shirts that you want, but you just can't expect to get an official university nod to do it...

Rink manager said no signs, not even positive ones, can be hung this year.

Last year the Cameron Crazies managed to hang a massive "Go To Hell Carolina" sign at the basketball game. It actually made it onto ESPN. They obviously didn't have the support of the Duke administration, but managed to "sneak" it up anyway.

Food for though.

From what I remember, that railing that bedsheet is attached to happens to be a spectator walkway right by the doors that is very accessible to everyone. (Much like the walkway around Meehan Auditorium at Brown, where you can pretty much look right down on the goaltender...and say things to him.) It's much more of an effort to hang fan signs at Lynah.
