My ears hurt...I think my one year-old sister could give a better interview. She's starting to put together sentences!

Gotta love Bitz's answer to want to be remembered as an NCAA champion though.

I'm sure Schafer gave the team architecture lessons between periods...

"captaincy"?

Painful interview to listen to. Nice to see Cornell get the exposure, though.

"captaincy"?

What's wrong with captaincy?

After the resounding review, I didn't bother listening to it. But what's wrong with "captaincy?"

Nothing's wrong with it. I guess I'm just strange, but I thought it was amusing.help

But what's wrong with "captaincy?"
It's an ugly, clumsy word, IMO, even if it is in the dictionary.

So's "IMO." Oh, wait - that's not a word at all.

Captainitude? Captainfulnessivity? Captesquery?

Captainivity?

I think there were other ways to phrase the queston without using the word (or a different form).

Don't blame Bitzy too much, though. The interviewer's second question, telling us about how the guy who designed Ingalls also enjoyed the St. Louis Arch, is an interesting bit of info but a completely shitty question.

Could you use it in a sentance?

Si, my captaincy seems to see me off to sea, see? smashfreak

Here it is in a sentence spoken by a guy also known as "The Captain." (Not a bad source)

"The people close to me know how much I think of Brian, For him to turn the captaincy over to me and for me to accept it is a real honor." -- Mark Messier, July 13, 2000

It's in the dictionary and it clearly means what you expect it to mean. I just think it's a clumsy word. So I try not to use it.

It's perfectly acceptable usage, especially measured in microfarads.

How is it any different or more awkward than, say, "presidency?"

You try to come up with a more awkward phrase than "the George W. Bush presidency".
