Snowball Jeff Hopkins '82 stereax Who cares about the odds? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? What the f--k happened to the Elynah I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? Jeff Hopkins '82 RichH toddlose Maybe a bronze bust at the entrance of rink for players to touch prior to getting on the ice. Or give him a statue outside (that should be for harkness or Dryden in my mind however) Ring (or Wall, given the building geometry) of Honor isn’t a difficult concept, folks. I enjoyed the first game of the USA-Canada Rivalry series in women's hockey that is kicking off the PWHL season. I was generally impressed with the skill, speed and physicality. I think they are allowing a lot more contact these days in the women's game. The game was held in San Jose at the arena where the AHL Baracuda play (Sharks affiliate). There were Cornell alums on both sides (Brianne Jeby Roy 82 - Hockey

billhoward One in four NHLers have been to college. Per AI: Google AI answer to "nhl percentage college playrs" The odds of making it to the NHL are around 5% or less, and players who aren't generational talents like Sidney Crosby or Connor McDavid may end up in junior or minor leagues for their entire careers. Jacob MacDonald has been seeing some good ice time with the Sharks. He scored last night in a losing effort. The Sharks have also been giving a fair amount of ice time to some new guy named Colin Graf. Name rings a bell. He was on the second line and had an assist. Henry Thrun has been a regular on the Sharks blue line all season. So there is no accounting for taste. The Sharks GM, Mike Gby Roy 82 - Hockey

"Uniforms" aside, the game requires a high degree of athleticism and skill - not to mention size. And you might also be surprised at the range of uniforms that teams choose to wear. David Harding rss77 Interesting article on Chad Levitt and the price one pays for playing football Scary! Indeed. Exciting new coach notwithstanding, I would suggest that Cornell take the bold move of ending its football programs. The casualty toll is too great. And the NCAA knocked the Ivies from the top league anyway.by Roy 82 - Other Sports

The Rancor David Harding Not about games, but equipment. Cornell Researchers have designs on better women’s hockey protective gear Interesting news. Thanks for sharing. I wonder what the novel (i,e. patentable) aspect to the work is. It can't simply be that women have different sizes and shapes to their torso therefore different size pads are needed. ugarte Roy 82 At least according to the recent SCOTUS decision, we don't have to worry about another Donato at Harvard. why would this possibly be true? Roy 82 At least according to the recent SCOTUS decision, we don't have to worry about another Donato at Harvard. And keeping with the theme of admissions criteria, I found this piece on athletics and selective admissions to be annoyingly thought provoking. I think it unfairly singles out the Ivies, but I generally agree. While I enjoy seeing the best of the best play, it would be good to knowby Roy 82 - Hockey

ugarte Don't see a better place to post this and don't remember seeing it elsewhere. Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens was hit by a pickup while riding his bike and had to have a leg amputated. Horrible story though the narrative does not make it sound like the driver was primarily at fault. Horrible indeed. And the spinal cord injury could be worse than the leg amputation.
