Re: 2025-26 schedule - 3 days ago
The first inklings of this year's schedule came from Jim Hyla on March 15, 2024. The year before Jim posted the ECAC schedule January 23, 2023 All unofficial, but generally right on the moeny.by David Harding - Hockey

billhoward What if we pool our money and 401K's and create The eLynah Sovereign Wealth Fund? Story says the properties all have upside potential. The photo shows a pristine building. Re: Jacket from Harkness Teams - 17 days ago
TimV I found this on ebay. This was the jacket Ned Harkness designed for his first teams at Cornell. He did a similar one for our lacrosse team when he took that job. Harkness' team jacket The listing says "Vintage Lg 1950s Cornell Univ Hockey Team Canvas Jacket INSANELY RARE Great". Harkness didn't arrive at Cornell until 1963.by David Harding - Hockey

Swampy stereax CU2007 stereax sah67 From the "things you don't see every day" department...BU's freshman goalie hit the ice for warm-ups 1 minute earlier than he was supposed to (before BC entered), leading to BU being assessed a bench minor delay-of-game penalty, and BC starting the game on the powerplay, during which they scored what ended up being the GWG (24 seconds into the game):by David Harding - Hockey
Re: Former Cornell HC Jim Knowles highest paid assistant in college football - 23 days ago
arugula Why is TOSU letting him go? Perhaps $3.1M/year for a coordinator is too pricey for even tOSU's program. From CBS: Knowles picked Penn State's massive contract offer over major interest from Oklahoma and a strong push from Ohio State to keep him. Penn State will rank among the national favorites entering the 2025 season with the return of quarterback Drew Allar and running backs Nick Sinby David Harding - Other Sports

scoop85 In the recesses of my brain I thought I’d read that the NCAA has mandated shootouts in all games. But perhaps I am imagining that. You are correct. In the 2024-25 and 2025-26 NCAA Ice Hockey Rules & Interpretations, under "Major Rules Changes for 2024-25" we find 91.2 Tied Games - Regular Season: All NCAA regular-season games that remained tied will use a five-minute oby David Harding - Hockey

Trotsky DafatoneI'm just endlessly fascinated by Augustana. People here (Sioux Falls, SD) think of it as The Premier Fancy Private School and nobody else has heard of it. It's pretty well known, along with Saint Olaf and Macalaster, if you are into stuff like Renaissance and Medieval Studies. But TBH I thought it was in MN, not IL. Edit: Oh shit, that's Augsburg, not Augustana. As youby David Harding - Hockey

randyranger Xavier Veilleux, Presently with Muskegon (their leading scorer as a Dman) in USHL. Was a Harvard commit, now coming in either '25 or '26. Sixth round pick of the Islanders in the 2024 draft. Nuts! Our local USHL team has already played Muskegon several times this season and won't see them again. He'd be fun to check out.by David Harding - Hockey

Ken711 Trotsky scoop85if we get a competent QB to replace Wang we should be able to compete year-in-year out.I do not follow the team closely but my impression was Wang was a black swan, like Jeff Foote. Some bizarre concatenation of circumstances resulted in him slipping past the notice of better programs and becoming available to an Ivy. Was he really that much of a rarity, or do we stand aby David Harding - Other Sports
Re: Cornell at Harvard 11/16 - 3 months ago
Trotsky scoop85When I was a student from 81-85, it was a 10 minute OT at 5 x 5.I will always remember the time on the Bright scoreboard when Shippel scored in overtime on 2/16/85: 5:55 My most memorable overtime game was the women's 2013 NCAA quarterfinal game at Lynah against BU. We were in town for my father's birthday. With the score 7-7 after three periods, we figured that someby David Harding - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Harvard 11/16 - 3 months ago
ER I remember full periods too of OT from when I was a student bc I remember some games being really long but I could be wrong. Was a long time ago. It was only 5 minutes of 5 x 5 before the bastardization, but otherwise I agree.Maybe I’m going crazy but I thought they had a whole period and called it a tie if it was nobody scored. But even if I’m wrong I would honestly take 5 minutes of 5 oby David Harding - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Harvard 11/16 - 3 months ago
Iceberg I looked back at the highlights and a few things: There were several stupid or unnecessary penalties...on both sides. The Bancroft hit that resulted in the major got a lot of attention but the boarding penalty Harvard's MacDonald took late in the 3rd was peak idiocy and resulted in Cornell tying the game on a nice low-slot passing play. The 2nd Harvard goal should've been called bacby David Harding - Hockey

Re: Cornell-Penn Varsity Football, November 9, 2024 - 3 months ago
arugula There was a first and 10 for Penn from like the Cornell 25. They call a pass and receiver is very open. Cornell db recovers and breaks up the pass. Celebrates like he won the Super Bowl. Team losing at the time by two touchdowns. Unacceptable behavior. Get off my lawn. I remember a game oh so many years ago that was not going well for Cornell. Re: Cornell-Bucknell football October 19 - 4 months ago
Ken711 12 penalties for 120 yards isn't a stat that will allow winning many games. At least two penalties were made by freshman players. I'm sure the coaches will use this as a lesson to be learned. Were the penalties evenly distributed between offense and defense, or was the offensive line trying to hard to compensate for the perceived Bucknell superiority in aestheticism there?by David Harding - Other Sports

billhoward Trotsky Scersk '97Bring back Oliver's! (And all the other spaces we are missing.)Seconded. Also, raze any building in C-town over 2 stories.
