Re: THE FROZEN APPLE 2024 - 5 days ago
It's neither effort nor coaching; it's injuries. If we have 5 (formerly 7) guys out just imagine how many of the guys who skate are playing hurt. We just need to survive, get the squad healthy, foster the esprit de corps, and stretch ourselves against each opponent. Enjoy the games and don't worry about the standings; success will come with us gelling as a team.by Trotsky - Hockey

Iceberg Harvard down 3-0 in Belfast and the 1st period isn't even over. TypicalAgainst all expectations, they have put down their gin fizzes and ceased interfering with their maids long enough to fight back to 3-2. Oligarchs with grit? How very European.by Trotsky - Hockey

Re: Recruits 2025 and Beyond - 8 days ago
BearLoverWhile Cornell does end up with some drafted/heralded players, it’s always because they commit early before they’ve received much hype. Let's say "usually." Alex Green was already a highly regarded 4th round draft pick when he committed. Joakim Ryan and Brian Ferlin were both hyped as incoming players. Riley Nash was practically an "I'm taking my talents to Ithaca"by Trotsky - Hockey

Iceberg RichH Bruno get their first win at Cheel, scoring with under 1 second on the clock. Clarkson took icing with under 10 seconds to set it up. Worth a watch for the schadenfreude. First win ever at Cheel? That's nuts considering how long and often they've played each other since Cheel opened. Then again, Yale can never seem to win games against Q, so such occurrences are not out of the reaby Trotsky - Hockey

scoop85if we get a competent QB to replace Wang we should be able to compete year-in-year out.I do not follow the team closely but my impression was Wang was a black swan, like Jeff Foote. Some bizarre concatenation of circumstances resulted in him slipping past the notice of better programs and becoming available to an Ivy. Was he really that much of a rarity, or do we stand a decent chanceby Trotsky - Other Sports
Re: Mike Schafer retiring 2025 - 12 days ago
In the 3 seasons prior to Mike Schafer becoming head coach, we had zero shut outs. With tonight's 5-0 win against Princeton, Cornell has at least one shut out in every season of his tenure. Thank you, Schafer.
