Re: ECAC '25 Final Red vs. Clarkson - Today
RichH Scersk '97 ugarte 1997 was so good. Soooooo good. Suck it, Todd White! (damn that guy had a much better nhl career than i realized) Yeah, we really had no business winning that game. That game at Lynah they dominated us. Absolutely dominated us. But we won! Pretty much sheer will and guile. And an embarrassing amount of icing as the clock wound down in the 3rd. An embarrassing amountby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: ECAC '25 semifinal Red vs. Q - Yesterday
sah67 Dafatone sah67 Peckerhead continued his hissy fit into the postgame presser (from the Sun recap): “ Pecknold made an eye-opening comment about the officiating in the postgame press conference. “I just want to get clarity right out of the gate — I'm not going to take any questions, for NCAA rules, on the officiating tonight. Any questions on that you can ask Doug Christiansen,” Pecknoby scoop85 - Hockey

adamw not too shabby After hitting seemingly 1,000 posts during the season, fitting that Rego’s game winner went in off the post.by scoop85 - Hockey

chimpfood Do you believe in miracles? Just like in 1980 we got one more tomorrow, and it’s the one that matters most. Hit the cold tubs tonight and come out tomorrow with the same juice we had today and I like our odds. Rego has been so impressive this year I’m glad he got the final goal. Major also made me really proud today, he got on my nerves so much early on but he has really settled into hiby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: ECAC '25 semifinal Red vs. Q - Yesterday
djk26 OH MY GOD Congratulations to the whole team. What is more unlikely, a short handed goal or TWO power play goals? Just WOW. Very exciting. While our PP has been atrocious, the shortie under the circumstances when it was scored has to be the most unlikelyby scoop85 - Hockey
Re: ECAC '25 semifinal Red vs. Q - Yesterday
Simply hilarious that we won this game because of special teams.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: Men's Basketball March 2025 - Yesterday
mountainred Watching St. Mary's/Vandy and I had to confirm that the Cornell pronunciation guide from last year said it was Chris MANN-in. It's his name, and Chris would hardly be the first to ask for a change, but I had to double check that I wasn't getting wrong for four years. Well his Vandy uniform does have the Tilde over the “n” in his nameby scoop85 - Other Sports

I only saw the 1st goal, but it was off an unfortunate turnover.by scoop85 - Hockey
Re: ECAC '25 semifinal Red vs. Q - Yesterday
Brutal lack of discipline the last several minutes. We had everything going the way we’d want it (although we missed out on a few great chances to extend the lead), but the last two penalties were awful penalties to take.by scoop85 - Hockey

nycred Mañon got paid in the mid-six figures to play at Vandy this year, I imagine AK could probably get something similar if maybe a little less. I think Okereke has become a better player than Manon and should fetch at least as good an NIL package.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Men's Basketball March 2025 - 5 days ago
chimpfood nycred Oops, accidentally posted the previous message twiceYeah, unfortunately the decision between getting an Ivy degree, starting a masters, and maybe getting paid to play at a power 5 school and paying 100k to come back to Cornell for another year and not being able to start a masters isn’t a very hard one. Hoping for the best but we can’t count on him being here next season. Certaby scoop85 - Other Sports

Mr. Niss disappointing that the Ivy runner up was not seen to merit a bid to the NIT this year ... we pretty well outranked a handful of teams that made the NIT on KenPom Agreed, I wanted to see these guys get at least one more game together.by scoop85 - Other Sports
Re: Opponent and other news and results of interest 2024-2025 - 6 days ago
BearLover For me, the highs from this weekend ended as soon as it became reality that we have to play Quinnipiac next weekend. Joy turns to dread as one realizes that more likely than not Rand Pecknold will end Mike’s career. Even in a “normal” year for Cornell, Quinnipiac would be a tough matchup, but this season Quinnipiac has way fewer (~zero) injuries and is getting big contributions from fifby scoop85 - Hockey

stereax Chris H82 Clarkson with the win. We get Q. How do we feel about Q, genuinely? And Harvard still sucks. God bless. We tied them twice and lost by one goal. Certainly a talented and well coached team, but not an impossible hill to climb.by scoop85 - Hockey

Re: Men's Basketball March 2025 - 6 days ago
Proud of our effort today. I think this Yale team is the best Ivy team since our 2010 team, and we gave them a great battle. Too bad Noard was off his game today. As Ugarte says, if Okereke comes back we’ll surely be in the mix for the league title next year; he’s just a matchup nightmare for anyone in the Ivies. I too am concerned about our lack of size coming back besides AK, and none of the liby scoop85 - Other Sports

Trotsky Good start, 11-5. Our unis are a crime against humanity. Unis aside, we’re looking confident even though we’re not shooting well. If the shooting picks up we’ll really put pressure on Yale.by scoop85 - Other Sports

djk26 dbilmes What a day to be a Cornell sports fan! Lacrosse, basketball, women's hockey, men's hockey! ...and all four teams coached by Cornell alums; add in wrestling and you've got quite the spring season for former Cornell athletes at their alma mater. I can't remember a better 24 hours for the school's teams. The last time we had a similar weekend was March 2010 when the men won the ECby scoop85 - Hockey

Al DeFlorio marty djk26 marty Give My Regards Never seen that before. Woody Hayes play without the punch. What happened? No tv for me, and I doubt whatever it was will be on the highlights (assuming they get posted.) It probably will be in the highlights because a goal was awarded. The power play was winding down.
