stereax Trotsky stereax Trotsky stereaxContinuing the tradition of players I will care about too much for a very weak link to the Devils who will inevitably sign in Europe LOL. Well said. Trotsky Jeff Hopkins '82 Trotsky Are they based out of Colorado Springs? They're outside of Detroit. That was my first guess but I convinced myself I was thinking of that Compuware team from back in the day run by that weird fuck Peter Karmanos. 617BigRed Ugh saw new post on this thread hoped to see who our last two OOC games are against - what can be taking so long to confirm until can announce? As long as it isn't against an ECAC member. Love to see the USNDP on the schedule.by The Rancor - Hockey

stereax The Rancor stereax Just read up on DiGiulian and Cournoyer in the EP draft guide. Can link those pages if anyone wants. ursusminor FWIW, RPI supposedly has 20 new players for 2025-6, 12 of whom are from the portal. Of the first-year players, three played major juniors. This agrees with my best guess. That's bonkers!by The Rancor - Hockey

I don't even like that they did away with the SRO walkway. Either embrace un-modernity or build it new from scratch, but all the tinkering is terrible, including the jumbotron. (ADA accessible seating and new locker rooms exempted)by The Rancor - Other Sports

stereax 617BigRed Any ideas/rumours who remaining OOC opponent may be? Sorry, meant to post this in one of the schedule threads but don't see how to move or delete - can we maybe get forum software upgrade from 1983? The software from 1983 is a feature, not a bug! Horse sports are a whole different world... Cornell is a real player, but also schools like Sweet Briar, a powerhouse of Equestrians, and my partner's alma matter. NCAA Horsing isn't what they care about.by The Rancor - Other Sports

BearLover The Rancor I play occasionally with a kid who's heading to Chicago Steel for Juniors, and to Maine for Collage (unfortunately, because he's so darn good) that Head Coach Mike Garman is off to Notre Dame to be Associate Head Coach. FWIW, the kid is super nice, an amazing player, but seems to have zero academic ambition and is only concerned with hockey and getting to the NHL. "Wby The Rancor - Hockey

Re: 2025-26 schedule - 8 weeks ago
Scheduling for Cornell has to be challenging. Take a chance to get beaten by a good program, playing on the road, with a weak ECAC SOS (EZAC?) Who wants that? At least there's some name recognition for Harvard, Yale and Princeton. What is the benefit of getting pounded by Big Red just to see your RPI crash?by The Rancor - Hockey

abmarks Here's another twist on the CHL recruitment saga. Re: CHL players moving to the NCAA, coaches are finding out that a lot of them will not be academically eligible to play college hockey. It's not that the CHL players are bad students. The primary issue is that many have not taken the required 16 NCAA-approved core classes, including 10 in the first seven semesters of high scby The Rancor - Hockey

Dafatone VIEWfromK BearLover Robertson has almost no chance of an NHL career. I wasn't even considering the possibility that Jacob MacDonald or Joakim Ryan would play in the NHL based on their time at Cornell yet both have played in the league. Maybe you wouldn't call it a career but since I don't think Cornell turns out finished products it's kind of hard to really know Also, important toby The Rancor - Hockey

ugarte Dafatone One player doesn't mean anything, but now is as good as time as any to note that our highest draft pick ever (14th overall), Sasha Pokulok, played two alright-but-not-great seasons for Cornell then never made the NHL.IIRC Pokulok was pretty good at Cornell but had concussion/injury issues in some of his early years in the pros before decamping overseas. If you want to play in the NHL, via NCAA Hockey, you go play at Michigan, or the like. Not that we don't make NHL players, but the shot is better from Ann Arbor. Simple.by The Rancor - Hockey
