Re: Cornell at Brown 2/14/25 - Yesterday
Whittet finally wisens up and pulls his starter. Defense not doing him any favors thoughby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Brown 2/14/25 - Yesterday
Refs missed a pretty clear board in the Cornell zone. Not sure if it warrants 5 minutes though.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Brown 2/14/25 - Yesterday
Lots of possession but not really many shots to show for it. Puck movement could be quickerby Iceberg - Hockey

BearLover marty I just noticed that QPee is on the pairwise bubble. If the league tournaments were held with these numbers the ECAC might have only one school in the NCAA tourney. Yes, need to root against Quinnipiac. The only way I could see two teams getting in is if Q loses in the championship game to a team that isn't too low in the pairwise. Not out of the realm of possibility since thisby Iceberg - Hockey

I'm treating myself for Valentine's Day by attending this game at the Meehan Morgue. Again, not much expectation given how the last game against Brown wentby Iceberg - Hockey

VIEWfromK stereax We can't predict the future and whether we'll be terrible next season. There are reasons we might be (Shane leaving with no succession plan) When Galajda left there was no succession plan and out of it emerged Shane (the least likely of them at the time). I thought Howe was expected to be the starter until the injuries and poor performance derailed him before he either leby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Union - 7 days ago
Cornell had plenty of opportunities but couldn't get more than one goal. I was surprised at how easy it was to get into the Union zoneby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: RPI vs Cornell - 7 days ago
VIEWfromK According to CHN they changed the first goal to Desantis. I thought it looked like it hit him but they sent Rego ahead for fist bumps. I would have assumed Desantis knew it hit him unless they really wanted that to be Rego's goal. I had just finished complaining that I thought they were too busy trying to pick corners on the RPI goalie when Penney let fly that laser beam wrister inby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: RPI vs Cornell - 8 days ago
stereax Suda got fucked up behind our net. Threw his stick and gloves when he got back to the bench. Now floating up and down the tunnel. It stems from when he was boarded in the first and got shaken up and then that fall over the RPI player definitely aggravated something.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: RPI vs Cornell - 8 days ago
Suda headed right down the tunnel in anger. Hopefully nothing seriousby Iceberg - Hockey

VIEWfromK Snowball I was thinking more in terms of motivation. Remember when Schaf took Ben Berard out of the line-up for a Friday game and then Berard scored a hat trick the next night: I have seen this go the other way though too. In 2012-13 (our most recent disappointing regular season?) after a Friday OT loss to top ten ranked Yale, Schafer benched leading scorer Greg Miller and theyby Iceberg - Hockey

BearLover It’s honestly shocking how bad Harvard is. No other college program with this many draft picks is anywhere close to as bad. I’d be furious if I were a Harvard fan. Consistent player underperformance due to or independent of coaching. Donato would'nt have lasted as long as he has at many other schools, that's for sure. But this is the Harvard admin we're talking aboutby Iceberg - Hockey

Trotsky In a game I am sure very few of you care about, Dartmouth loses to Princeton and Cornell stays in the Ivy title race. The one game where Thompson doesn't feel like an empty wind tunnelby Iceberg - Hockey

The record mentioned was 400-89-56. I think it was all time, too, and not just under Schaferby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. St. Lawrence 1/31 - 14 days ago
To get a bye, this team basically can't afford to drop any further games against teams below them in the standings and will also need to take the majority of points in the games against Union and Clarkson. The best case scenario is a 4th place finish I thinkby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. St. Lawrence 1/31 - 15 days ago
Even with a very depleted lineup, this game was mostly close. Things should be better tomorrow but dropping one to a weak SLU team is not ideal.by Iceberg - Hockey

SLU homers well behaved so far. They were even talking up the wrestling team for a bitby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: To The Band - 15 days ago
upprdeck I dont recall any bands other than Clarkson coming at all for the last 30 yrs. Clarkson band used to be fun with the competition between the bands. Maybe a 1 off time I missed. Colgate definitely sent a band when I was a student, maybe in 2011 or 2012. I don't recall any other bands except Clarkson's at Lynah, though.by Iceberg - Hockey

VIEWfromK adamw Actually, you'll have to figure it out Saturday night. Friday will be 3 automatic suspensions for getting Game DQs. Saturday would be the supplemental. Is there precedent for supplemental suspensions beyond the auto DQ? This is a pretty unique situation that doesn’t come up much but I didn’t know if anyone could recall other instances? stereax Cole Hutson is for sure better than Quinn Hutson, but Cole plays D and Quinn plays F. Cole Eiserman is probably going to be the best NHL forward currently on the team, born goalscorer. For context, Quinn is a junior with 26 pts, both Coles are freshmen with 21. From all I've understood, the forwards and defense are fine, but the goaltending has been really terrible this year and hasby Iceberg - Hockey

BearLover TBH Fegaras looked like one of our better players as soon as he returned. Fair enough on the rest of your post—I really don’t know. In the 2018-19 season we had even worse injury luck but still made the NCAAs as a 3-seed and would have won the ECAC if not for several blown calls by the refs and freak injuries in the ECAC final. That team was more talented than this one, especiallyby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Dartmouth 1/25/25 - 19 days ago
I don't know about the state of the locker room and don't pay attention to the interviews like some other folks here do, but I do think the team lost a lot of intangible strengths with Seger's departure. I imagine suspensions will be announced today or tomorrow so we should soon have a better idea of what the roster will look like for this weekend.by Iceberg - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82 TimV Trotsky This is one of my favorite contrasts of sweaters. Both classic. There are some photos on the CU hockey website. Lack of sharp focus makes Dartmouth shoulder insignia look like the ace of spades. I was trying to figure out what that logo was. I couldn't figure it out. What is it? It's a tree. Dartmouth likes to style itself as being deep in nature in the middby Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Dartmouth 1/25/25 - 20 days ago
Catalano was the first guy in there and went after a few Dartmouth players, so he could definitely face a suspension. FWIW, at the end of the game in Princeton, he was involved in the scrum and the refs sent him right through the visitors' tunnel. He wasn't in the handshake line at allby Iceberg - Hockey

stereax arugula Iceberg I imagine DeSantis will be suspended the longest out of anybody from what I saw on the video For sure If they go off that video. From unofficial reports it sounded like Penney, O'Leary, Stanley were going to catch suspensions. Yeah, definitely those three from what the refs saw and even from the fan video. The replay is up now and I went back to look at the footage shown on the broadcast. The whole thing starts after Croteau is having some fun with the student section and then the captain, Chisholm (Gaudet holdover who happened to get ejected his first game at Lynah several years ago) waves the rest of the team over to celebrate, which obviously ignites Cornell's response. It was clear that Penneyby Iceberg - Hockey

chimpfood Where do we even go from here? It’s clear that the coaching staff sees Shane as our guy, he got both games this weekend even after a good keopple performance vs Princeton. After another letdown day from Shane will they be so not trusting in keopple that they still give Ian the clarkson game on Friday? How are we even gonna dress enough players for that game with suspensions coming? We aby Iceberg - Hockey
