Big goal, feels like we’re lucky to be tied right now. Our D men are getting tripped up big time by their forecheck. They’re sending one guy high for each D man but not pressing aggressively. Instead of sending it up the boards our guys just keep passing between each other until someone messes up. Hopefully Schaf can fix it at the intermission.
We always adjust.

Coaching.

Well, Bancroft said he wants to model his game after Tom Wilson’s in that recent scouting interview: he certainly has that knack for taking stupidi/ill-timed penalties, weak call or not.

Last minute PP goal with rough (especially on a soft cross check call) but we can hang with these boys. Lots of hockey to play.

MSU very fast skating, physical team that plays defense and has skilled players up front. Faceoffs the biggest thing keeping Cornell in the game

this is a rough team for us. our method of clearing the puck is throwing it blindly away from wherever we are and that is a bad formula for playing this team, who will basically always beat us to the puck in open ice. we're going to win by 1 or lose by 5.

Two pucks skittered off the corner weirdly to Shane's right. The first one led to a goal.

Ohio, build better rinks. Maybe we can take advantage next period.

Goal one: bad bounce off Zamboni door

Goal two: PP bc of a bullshit cross check call

We look pretty good. Guess attendance wouldn’t be so good with Cornell/bu regional final.

i think we can win puck battles if we ever get the zone

Done a good job in many area. a couple bad clears and a real soft cross check call

But I think we can create off the forecheck, lets hope we start to understand how to get it deep better

Let's see if we can't establish more of our forecheck in the 2nd period and swing the momentum. Game is fully up for grabs.

These announcers might as well be MSU. I typically don't mind and meh it's ESPN so of course it's shit, but this is embarrassing even for Bristol.

They're good during play, but the stoppage talk feels very green and white.

But they're a really good team. It happens.

We're having to work a lot harder to generate chances than MSU, who know how to play with a lead. Tough position to be in.

They just know more about MSU -- natural factory school bias for Bristol. Like I said, I typically don't mind but this is more offensive than usual.

The CU feed is fine except for the occasional Sturmtruppen interloping.

Yes, but that was also true of when we beat Denver. We can do this.

the way we're so indecisive with the puck influences how teams play us. bad teams fall into a shell and we refuse to try to shoot through it or set up for rebounds. fast teams know we'll hold the puck long enough that a defender can gamble on making a run at the puckhandler without a ton of risk of a pass being threaded to someone moving into the open space. frustrating.

We're looking better in the second. What the fuck 18 saves already for Shane?? The problem is, every time we have a nice set up in the offensive zone, we have one blundering play where I'm screaming at the TV.

Can’t give up 3 questionable goals, let alone 1.

Well, 20 minutes to go. Alright. Whatever. Figure it out. Augustine is beatable.

Okay but for real is there a broadcast that isn't sucking Ike Howard's dick the whole time
Were getting dominated and he’s been the best player in the country this year, fair enough
are we watching the same game
this game? (second period only)

The two goals have been on fantastic plays. Augustine hasn't had to stop much but the good thing is that Cornell has been able to capitalize twice on limited opportunities

Wellp, not ideal but it's one period to go and we know there is a real path to victory, as tough as it is. The nonstop defending has taken a toll. Play for
each other, play for the school, play for Coach. Empty the tank.

31-21 in faceoffs, so at least we still control there. Maybe that will come into play later (hopeful foreshadowing).

Somewhere in the second before the goal we started taking up a lot more space. Playing well. Scoring two goals is a lot though.

Exactly. Looks like we're slowly finding our groove. Play 20 good minutes. Score. Don't get scored on. Anything can happen.
