I met Jeremy once or twice when I was a kid and he was at the Daily Sun. I went there one time to sell those middle school fundraiser candy bars and he tried to haggle with me on the price until one of the other students made him cut it out. (I initially thought he was joking around but I think he was dead serious.)

I worked with him occasionally at one of my career stops. I brought up being a season ticket holder so we had that to chat about. He treated me very well and always said hi just because of that connection.

Starting lineup booing was the loudest I have heard in a while. Two girls behind me who apparently have never done this before. I will have to explain to them how hockey works, I think.

UMD pretty firmly in control so far, playing pretty aggressive and mean too. Lots of scrums initiated with lots of jawing and “come get some” hand gestures.

Very feisty and physical game so far; shades of last weekend's semifinal against Clarkson. UMD is big and strong and has gotten away with some borderline interferences to start breakouts.

Momentum definitely swinging toward us in the second half of the period. I think UMD realized they weren’t going to be able to keep that pace up for three periods.

Pretty good first period. The Cornell ladies needed a bit of time to find their feet, rhythm not quite there yet. They're a smart team that figures out where they can get an edge on their opponents as games
wear on. We're probably the faster, better-skating team here, so we'll need to lean into playing a full-sheet game.
