Alumni in the Pros 2021-2022
Even though he's an Islander now, he got some nice praise from the Flyers announcers regarding his toughness and how he came back from his injury at Cornell.

Although not in the pros, I assume that Galajda is an alumnus, so I guess this is the best thread to ask the question, when not playing against Cornell, are people here rooting for Notre Dame?
No.
Trotsky
No. No love for our transfers. No hate either, and I will root for them in the pros, but while we're in HS if my ex is going to the prom with somebody else then she can fuck right off.
Someone posted something about how the Ivy League took too long to say that players like Galadja were eligible this year, so I don't really blame him.
Notre Dame is sorta tough to root for, though.
I'm not blaming him, I realize it was entirely Cornell's fault.Dafatone

I hope so! Iām going to the Sabres-Rangers game next Friday with my son.

Does anyone know what's happened to Anthony Angello? As far as I can tell, he came close to making the Pens this year but wound up in the AHL. But he hasn't played in any games, and I can't find any reports of injuries or anything.

Currently out with a long term injury. I dont know what injury it is. I dont think it was announced.

FWIW, Barron got scarce minutes too when heād been called up previously. But now, thanks partly to Covid, heās getting a regular fourth-line shift. I think Iāve even seen him on the PP or PK. Certainly the Ranger announcers are giving him lots of props. Heās proving that he can handle the Show.
If Iām not mistaken, the entire fourth line came off the taxi squad. Having played together in Hartford has been a big advantage.

Morgan Barron: Rangers have a 'different vibe' this season
[apple.news]

Morgan Barron did not play today, and I don't see him listed on the Rangers roster.
From lohud.com, which I thought was an Israeli site, realized it's Lower Hudson.
Why the NY Rangers should consider playing Morgan Barron for now ā and the future
Basically: Barron is 66% on faceoffs and 56 minutes on-ice without a goal-against, he's building "confidence," and playing him now makes him more valuable in the 2022-2023 season, although it's the Devils and Islanders who should declare this season a loss.
Quinnipiac fans turned out at the Garden to see Priskie and make him feel at home: They left midway through the second period for a party.scoop85
Barron is back in the lineup tonight for the Rangers against the Panthers. Qās Chase Priskie in the lineup for Florida.

Forward Andrew Copp said on Thursday that, one year ago at this time, he started looking at houses and hoped that the Jets would sign him long-term. How quickly everything can change.
Winnipeg traded Copp and a 2023 sixth-round pick to the New York Rangers for prospect Morgan Barron, two conditional second-round picks and a fifth-round pick on Monday ahead of the NHL's trade deadline. Copp has 13 goals and 35 points in 56 games this season for the Jets.
The conditions of the picks: The first 2022 second-round pick will become the Rangersā 2022 first-round pick if the Rangers advance to the Eastern Conference final and Copp plays in at least 50 percent of their playoff games. For the other second-round pick, it will either be St. Louis' 2022 second-round pick or the Rangers' second-round pick in 2023.
After the trade, Winnipeg assigned Barron to the AHLās Manitoba Moose.

The Barron trade really depresses me. I've been a Rangers season ticket holder since the first Roosevelt administration, or so it seems, and have been waiting for a Cornell player to wear the Blue after having to watch Vesey, Blackwell, and Fox, though for obvious reasons I've grown to love Fox. Had high hopes for Morgan on Broadway, but the Rangers have a logjam of bottom six forwards and want to make a big move this season. Hopefully, for me, not a disastrous Dolan motivated move. Good luck to MB in Winnipeg, maybe playing for Dave Lowry, who should have soft spot for a Cornellian.
I was waiting for him to be traded. I think this is way better for Morgan

As a Rangers fan I'm sorry to see him go, but Gallant didn't seem to like him and as long as he's the coach I think Morgan would've been stuck in the AHL. With Winnipeg he'll get a fresh start and should have an easier path to the NHL.

Yes indeedy. This is good for Barron! The Rangers are my mortal enemy now!
So are we all pretty sure he's going to be in the Jets' lineup, not just a yo-yo? (I mean assuming he performs ok.)arugula
Definitely will be better for Barron. More ice, a Cornell friendly coach. To my eye, he was better than a few of the people Gallant has been playing in New York, but with such a young team, I suspect the coach wanted a bit more age in the lineup. Morgan also looked a little slow at the NHL level to me. He's definitely mastered the AHL, so it's NHL or bust now. Let go Jets!
With Malott also in Lose-a-peg (schmoozing, under the covers) it's too bad Riley Nash isn't there anymore. The Red Line!*
* I wonder if any NC$$ program has ever achieved this in the NHL.
