The women grab a 2-1 lead early in the third and then implode. Harvard quickly ties it and goes on a goal scoring spree. 7-3 is the final.
I'm not a PWR guru, but I think the women are out of the NC$$ tourney; they needed to win today to get the auto bid.
Seems very weird to have hockey end so soon.
The women's is not tied to the PWR. They have the option of valuing H2H more and we have to hope they do that with us and Clarkson, as we are 2-0-1 against them. The rest of criteria are not that much different between those two.

How about if we get knocked down to 10?
Harvard, Wisconsin, BU, RIT get the AQ's. BC, Minny, Q are locks. That leaves 1 spot left. It ain't gonna be us.

You're right. I was going by the USCHO App, which even now lists us as tied for 7th and ND 10th in PWR.

Too bad the women didn't qualify. Tough to see Clarkson get in, when they took the season against them. If they had opened with an easy team, rather than 2 at BC, they might have gotten in.

Interesting that they went with straight rankings rather than swap Q with BU. That would've kept the higher-ranked team in its home market, and would have avoided the ECAC first-round matchup.
Because years of reading Jayson Moy's blog has made me an expert on the women's committee.

For anyone interested, USA-Canada Women's Final in the IIHF Championship is on Universal Sports Network now. Canada is down 2-4, beginning of per 2.

Pretty good stuff, Jenner Nominated For NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
Recently graduated women's hockey player Brianne Jenner has been named the Ivy League representative for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

Official announcement on the 2015-16 recruits:
Looks like a solid class. I believe Cornell will be stronger defensively with the addition of Hart and Saracco (from what I heard Saracco was expected to be fully recovered and ready to play this coming season so I'm assuming nothing has changed). Cornell also appears to be solid in net with more experienced returning net minders and the addition Boissonnault.
It will be interesting to see how next years offense develops without Jenner, Saulnier and Fulton.

Really encouraged by the opening performance against BC. We got some really stellar goaltending out of Paula Voorheis, solid team defense with lots of blocked shots, and a nice goal by Bunton on a 3-on-2. The game ended on a disappointing note, as a string of BC penalties gave the Red a great chance to get back into the game down 2-1 but the all-stars composing the trio on penalty kill for BC did very well to disrupt our chances, and remarkably scored two empty netters down 3 skaters to Cornell. With a new system in place, this team is playing with good unity already...somewhat reminiscent of the 2009 squad. I'm seeing a lot of skill in the freshman class...but I'm not sure if it will be enough to hang with the likes of Harvard and Clarkson this year. This is a team that will have to grind out close wins against good opponents but should have consistent success against average opponents. If Paula Voorheis becomes a top 'tender this season, I think we could be in form for a nice playoff run come March.

Sorry, the RPI women don't beat Cornell (or anyone else for that matter) too often. Then again, after 4 years of mediocrity, the RPI women have talent in the net again, and that can give confidence to the rest of the team.

Congrats to RPI...we do, however, appear to be more of the "anyone else for that matter" variety this season. With 5 of the 11 defensemen and goalies on the roster having played for Team Canada (U18) defense will have to carry the team until we can find some offense. Of course, we might need to find that defense first.

Women trail Union 2-0 after one period at Lynah. SOG 10-5 in favor of Cornell.
Through 10 periods at home Cornell has been out scored 16-2, is 0 for on the PP, and gone through 3 goalies.
This should be considered the easiest series at home this year and we may be swept. Yikes.

Women worked their tails off in the second. Effort pays off with 2 goals. We're tied 2-2. Union's Black has played a strong game through two. SOG 27-10 Cornell.
