[Q]Knoepfli hopes to bring as much success to Geneva as he did at Cornell. Serving as Cornell's captain, Knoepfli helped the Big Red win their second Eastern College Athletic Conference title in the last four years, posting career highs of 12 goals and 25 points in 35 games. That included the overtime winner in the conference semifinal.[/Q]

Either that was one hell of a goal that beat UVM 3-0, or the author looked at Cornell's regular season schedule and assumed that the next to last game listed was the conference semifinal.

The coyotes have resigned Boucher, but have him as their only goalie listed on their roster. This year could have JMP or Lenny seeing some ice time up in phoenix. I remember reading an interview with Gretzky once where he was pretty high on Lenny, and now he is the head coach. Should be interesting to see what happens.[/q]

Coyotes sign CuJo to a 1 year deal.

Looks like the Sharks are taking a look at Iggy...he's listed on their prospects tournament roster. I expected to see Murray lined up here, don't know why he's not playing.

On ECHL side, Johnstown signed both Downs and Wallace for the upcoming season (where they will be coached by former LSSU coach Frank Anzalone).

Looks like most of Cleveland's starting defensemen from last year aren't playing in the prospects tourney. Garret Stafford, Christian Erhoff, Doug Murray.

Stephen Baby resigns with the Thrashers.

Baby, 25, finished with nine points (six goals, three assists) and 115 penalty minutes in 64 games with Chicago (AHL) last season. The 6-5, 230-pound right wing helped the Wolves reach the 2005 Calder Cup Finals, notching 12 penalty minutes in six playoff games.  The native of Chicago has earned 35 points (20 goals, 15 assists) and 187 penalty minutes over the past two seasons with the Wolves. Baby, who was selected by the Thrashers in the seventh round, 188th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, registered 115 points (29 goals, 86 assists) and 201 penalty minutes in 134 games at Cornell University (ECAC) from 1999-2003.

Another quote from GM Wilson in an espn article:

[Q2]San Jose GM Doug Wilson said he is predisposed to giving a young player from within the Sharks' system a shot at a roster spot before bringing in outside help, reinforcing the message that hard work on the farm does get rewarded.

That said, the Sharks made a concerted effort to land top free-agent defenseman Niedermayer, and Wilson will continue to look for players who might fit with what promises to be a Western Conference contender.

"We don't give anybody a job just by default," Wilson said. "You have players that are trending up and you have players that are trending down."[/Q][/q]

I they were looking to sign Niedermayer, I wonder if they'll be more likely to give Garrett Stafford or Christian Ehroff a shot.  I hope Doug is part of the mix!!

anyone hear about the most recent signing?  I don't think it'll make many happy.:`(

And the Flyers/Phantoms signed another Utah goalie, Jamie Storr.  Looks like Lenny is the senior goalie in the Coyotes farm system.

The Coyotes just signed veteran Steve Passmore, who has split his time between the Blackhawks and Norfolk most of the last three or four seasons before playing in Germany in '04-05.

Bummer.  :-/

He's not shown on the Phoenix or Utah rosters yet.   Guess they're not bothering to update regularly.

Utah is no longer in the AHL.  San Antonio is the Coyote's new AHL affiliate.
