not trying to flame the ECAC at all with this question, but anyone know how the Q's new rink is coming along.  A lot of HC fans are interested but nothing has been written in ages.

Thanks and Cheers.

If somebody can get me the exact location I might be able to get time to snap some pics next weekend.

EDIT: Wait a second. There are like 11 buildings on the Fighting Deertick's campus. I'll see what I can do. Spare time, not information, is the primary constraint on my doing anything.

EDIT2: Found this online. Now I can stay home and watch football this weekend.

Work is no longer an excuse to live near an ECACHL team... :(

Nice artist's conception, but I think what partisans of the Cross are wondering is when is it gonna be a reality, since that rink was purportedly an important factor in choosing a questionable Q over a first-class HC--academic institution-wise, that is.

That is one gorgeous building - er, rendition. Is that a fountain on the far right? Wonder what it looks like drained in winter and full of leaves and debris? No cars parked illegally in the circular driveway out front? No safety division cars using it as preferred parking (since they write the tickets)? Where do the rink employees step outside for a quick smoke without getting frostbite?

Purdy.  Though I'll bet a good artist could draw Lynah to look like the Bellagio. ;-)

Re: the "Fighting Deertick"...they seem to be the Bobcats now.  I saw the Cornell @Q basketball game there a few weeks ago, and this picture of a hockey player seems to back it up: http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/schools/quic/sports/m-hockey/auto_action/42302.jpeg

Shorts, they will always be the Fighting Deerticks.  Always. :-P
Is next year here yet?

Greg Berge

I thought the hockey program was the "Skating Deerticks."

At least in our hearts.

And then there's the "Lady Deerticks"  ::rolleyes::

Something about the phrasing that makes Fighting Deerticks sound better than Skating Deerticks. Now if only the Cornell Daily Sun opted to use that phraseology.

Or the "Fighting Doeticks."
