List of Cornell NHLers

Can someone list all of the Cornell hockey players that made it to the NHL?  It's probably on TBRW, but the link isn't working.

I went through a box of old hockey cards and found Ken Dryden's '74-75 and '78-79 cards.  I'm thinking it might be fun to try to get at least one card of every Cornellian that's made it to the NHL.  Dryden's rookie card ('71-72) sells for a steep $125, but Nieuwendyk's ('88-89) is only $4.  Others I can think of off the top of my head are Hayward, Elliott, Chartrand and Pelletier, but I'm sure there are at least a few more.

The list gets a bunch longer I think if you include all the guys who had a cup of coffee in the show.  Examples: PC Drouin '96 (3 games), Brock Tredway '81 (1 game).

Using the Internet Hockey database it wouldn't be hard to put such a list together.  It would take time though.

you're missing Kent Manderville..I don't see any rookie cards on ebay, but you can get a pair of his game worn socks :P

Keeping the list to those who had more than a cup of coffee, say at least half a season, would be fine.  If they happened to put out cards from a player or two who only played a couple games, oh well.

Greg,

If no one has a list,  could you help me?  You probably have almost all of them off the top of your head, and that would be good enough for me :-)

John Hayes's list is complete.  Pages 78-79 of the 2003-04 Cornell hockey media guide contains the list through the 2002-03 NHL season.   In the future, checking the media guide would be faster than searching the internet hockey database (unless John continues to answer the call).

Or you can do what I did and look here:

I've thought about doing the same thing.  I already have a good number.  I got a non-mint specimen of Dryden's rookie card for $8 from a dealer.

A great feature to this end is the "List Cards" button on the hockeydb webpages.  I happened to buy one of those Ryan Hughes WJC Czech cards from a shop in Toronto for 50 cents.  The Manderville '90-'91 Upper Deck WJC card is pretty neat, since it was issued while he was still playing for Cornell.  And I happened to get Dan Rutushny's Upper Deck card in the 1 pack I bought that year.

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/alumni.php3?tid=551 gives all the Cornell players (363 of them)  who have played somewhere after Cornell (including someone named empty-net). It's easy to search for NHL.

Thanks everyone for all the great links!

One could argue that if we're online at eLynah in mid-August, we have at least some time on our hands.

Greg

The TBRW link is working, if you have the new site. ;-)

Edit 1: I have no idea why the full url isn't linking within eLynah.  It's specified correctly and works fine outside eL.

Edit 2: Never mind, it works now.

Edit 3: It isn't updated for 2004 yet.  Damn job.

Who is this guy who is listed as a sophomore on defense and last played junior in finland, can someone bring me up to date ????

Steve M

As usual, your list is better than anything else on the web regarding Cornell hockey stats.  I like the added touch of the pictures of the Stanley Cup next to Dryden and Nieuwendyk.  B-]
