According to Directv's website, the ECHL All-Star game is being shown tonight on the NHL Center Ice package, channel 745.

Looks like Paolini and McRae made Cornell proud in the skills competition. Paolini was the runner up in the fastest skater competition:

Eastern Conference (14.508 average) d. Western Conference (15.074 average)

1. Kevin Spiewak, South Carolina, 14.166
2. Sam Paolini, Atlantic City, 14.550

And Paolini and McRae both made their shots in the breakaway relay:

Eastern Conference vs. Dan Ellis, Idaho (Saves – 2 of 6)– Sam Paolini, Atlantic City (made), Dusty Jamieson, Charlotte (made), Jason Maleyko, Cincinnati (made), Alex Burrows, Columbia (missed), Nate Kiser, Dayton (missed), Mark McRae, Florence (made).

Mark McRae just got an assist in the all-star game! More on this later :-)....

and now a goal by Paolini! It's 5-3 West right now... (you can go to echl.com and watch the game, by the way)

I see 6-3.  Was that a typo, or was there another goal in the 30 seconds it took me to open the link?

East pulled it out in the 3rd... ended up winning 7-6.  Yay Paolini and McRae! :)

Indeed; it was pretty exciting. Here's the box score:

Paolini scored a goal and assisted on the game-winning goal, and Mark McRae had an assist.

McRae was on the ice for the East during the last 45 seconds when the West was pressing for the tie with an extra attacker.

I thought I heard one of the announcers say something about Krzysztof Wieckowski... anyone else hear that, or more importantly, what was said?

Section A

Probably something about how Wieckowski was supposed to play, but he's injured.

Exactly right.

They also said that Wieckowski has a broken arm!

On Wednesday, Springfield got outshot 51-40 and lost 2-0 with Pelletier in net. Tonight, Lenny was back in net for the first time since his fight last week :-), but Springfield lost 4-2. Lenny had 32 saves.

Better news in Chicago though. The Wolves beat the Utah Grizzlies 2-1 and Baby had the game-winning goal at 15:44 of the third period, breaking a 1-1 tie.

While Matt Underhill has gotten plenty of good press for his local fund-raising efforts, this story reflects a different side -

It's been a rough year for the Florence Pride.

At least it's good to know that there is still only one Matt Underhill:

[Q]Forward Matt Reid got in the Underhill's way and guided the goalie back to his crease as he continued to shout at the referee.[/Q]

On the other hand, Mark McRae had a pair of assists and a minor penalty in the loss. Unfortunately, he missed his shot in the OT shootout.
