Agreed on BC.  My preseason pick to win it all.  Sure seems like a two horse race between UND and BC.  Then there are 10-15 teams that are pretty even but clearly a notch below UND and BC.  That being said, based on what we have seen in the NCAAs in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if the National Champion was somebody OTHER than UND or BC.

Michigan's starter Al Montoya is with the US Junior team.  The other goalie on the US team is Maine starter Jim Howard.

yeah, Montoya is playing for the US U-20 team...they beat Austria 8-0 (61 shots!!!!) yesterday with Zach Parise getting two goals and an assist, I believe

BC really looks good (I did get a chance to catch the first two periods of the game on TV here).  Excellent passing and goaltending.  This team is going to do really well this year.

Who is the alleged "home" team in this game?

calgARI \'07

US and Canada definitely the top two teams at the WJC this year, though Russia is not that far behind.  If Zherdev was still with Russia (left for the Blue Jackets) then it would be a different story.

BC is without one of their top liners in Pat Eaves.  Still, Voce and Ben Eaves along with Shannon, Gionta, Boyle, Pineault and this team has some serious fire power.  Still, the team has underachieved from the point of view of some of their close fans who argue that their results do not quite tell the whole story.
Should also be noted that Notre Dame beat BC 1-0 earlier in this year mostly attributed to a stand on head performance from UND's freshman goalie who made like 50 saves that game.

Cornell is wearing the whites.

Just got back from watching the first period.

Everything here sounds about right....Notre Dame looked good and fast in the early going....a lot of up and down play early...neither team really having great control of the puck for too long.

As the CU powerplays started kicking in, we began to take control, working along the boards, etc...more classic Cornell hockey.  The 2nd PP was very sloppy; never really had control of the puck.

Overall, a good period considering a 3 week layoff.  Unfortunately, I'm headed out and won't watch the rest.

I thought it seemed weird that everyone was giving it to Moulson.  It was a clear rebound wristed back in by Knoepfli.

sorry have missed the start of the 2nd period...just heard "McKee makes another save!" from Adam...is Notre Dame coming out fast again?

wow -- granted, some of it was the ND player not getting it up high enough, but McKee just made an amazing save off of a rebound, sprawling to right to cover the open side of the net.

Greg Berge

ND started with an early pp and had a few good chances; McKee made one great save.
