A U of South Dakota Cornell matchup would be a fun test of my loyalties.

Cornell has not had a single winning season since 2005. Yet there a bunch of posts contemplating Cornell finishing this year 5-0 for a total Ivy record of 6-1, which would be our best season in 35 years.

Hey an 8-2 season would be awesome, but we have to take it one game at a time.   Guess I have been following Cornell football too long and don't want to get overly excited.  Regardless I am enjoying following the team this season.

Is it realistic to think they'll run the table in their last 5 games? Nope
Is it fun to think about the what-ifs? Yup!
"What... is your favorite color?"  "Blue. No, yel--auuuuugh!"

My all-time favorite "that's so Cornell" season was 1994. On this date, Oct. 22, 1994, the team beat Dartmouth at home to move to 6-0 (3-0 Ivy) and entered the rankings at #25 in I-AA. PALPABLE EXCITEMENT

...and then the rest of the season happened.

After that sixth win, Hofher, upset that unbeaten Penn was ranked and unbeaten Cornell wasn't, voted Cornell #1.  The rest, as they say, is history.
