Despite the negative press regarding the awful Chi Phi incident, most Cornellians are great people and let's show our Ivy League enthusiasm as Lehigh (Patriot League school and another great academic institution) comes to Schoellkopf Field on Saturday.   Yes Lehigh is favored, but if we get a big home crowd.......hey you never know.   It sure beats sitting home or in your dorm moping.   Go Big Red!

Rain only in the morning as afternoon game looks clear.  Breezy off the lake as usual but certainly not 40 mph winds.   I moved back to the Finger Lakes after retiring from my real job and it's beautiful here.  The weather in at Cornell is really not any different than our other Ivy rivals like Brown, Harvard, and Dartmouth.

My daughter was a student at Cornell during the really good basketball seasons of 2008, 2009, and 2010 when the team went to the Sweet 16.   She said it was so much fun having the students jam Newman Arena on the weekends.   It gave the students something to look forward to.   That's the entire purpose of Ivy League athletics whether your a student-athlete or a fan, it gets you out of the dorms, library, and other stressful situations.

Temps in the mid-40's on Saturday is nice football weather.   See you at Homecoming and GBR!

Lehigh is a tough draw.  IMO they are on the same level as Harvard in terms of personnel plus they have an outstanding running back.  Hopefully Defensive Coordinator Coach Toerper can scheme some things on defense to blunt the attack.  Per the Cornell qb-he does an adequate job passing, slow on the handoffs, and strong on the run once he gets going.  The Cornell receivers struggled to get open against Harvard-will depend if Lehigh's dbs are as talented at covering the receivers.
