OMG. That wasn't a win — that was  absolute demolition of Q-Pak. A full-scale, no-survivors rout. You could hear the faint sound of the Bobcats Googling "transfer portal" by the third period.

First home loss of the season for Q-Pak!!!

Bravo to Casey and the staff — the boys were locked-in. Every minute of scouting paid off. We didn't just beat them; we wore them down physically, mentally, existentially.

Special shout-out to Cournoyer and the D — magnificent. It is NOT a casual task to bottle up the nation's highest-scoring forward. 🐻

Delicious.

Some miscellaneous observations from the rink last night.

Maybe I'm just getting older and crankier but Q keeps finding new ways to echl it up. It's a tiresome tone. I don't recall the PA guy being as bad in the past. Deliberately announcing the lineups in an exaggerated way and then similarly mumbling the Cornell goal announcements was just childish.

They made a point to recognize two Q alums with ties to hockey at the Olympics. Would have been nice to acknowledge the Cornellian medalists as well.

Credit where it's due, from 7:15-8:30 the Q students were present and engaged. Every "let's go red" was drowned out with "fuck cornell". But... At least they were there.

Once it filled in, that was probably the most filled I've ever seen that building.

I've seen Cornell get blown out in that building and it was a delight to watch it empty out halfway through the third and see the Cornell players very excited at the buzzer.

Someone please tell the band that "warm up the bus" doesn't make sense when Cornell is on the road. And also to just play Davy and not wait for permission all the damn time. The band sounded good when they played. The Q band sure was present.

I thought both teams did well to limit opposing zone time and possession. No crimebagging. It felt like Q iced the puck about fifteen times in the second half of the game just trying to get a break out going. I don't recall ever seeing them do that before.

Unlike many other games down there Cornell was winning puck battles and being very effective and disciplined with their sticks.

The first Major goal is the sort of thing it feels like Cornell has tried a thousand times and it almost never works.

On the Q goal, I think O'Brien had the puck carrier and it looked like he got caught between staying up and going down and it cost him.

Very impressed by the way Cornell played a full sixty against a good team. Teams are clearly closer than the score. Cornell looked to be having a practice in the game at over matched Yale. Last night they played at a high level all night and earned it.

Reasonably well-written, except the line about Wyttenbach:
QuoteHim and his linemates, junior Mason Marcellus and freshman Markus Vidicek were on ice for four of the Cornell goals.
And pretty tame Pecknold quotes.

I like how they IMMEDIATELY blame Silverstein for the loss.

Also, Pecknold whining about not getting a powerplay. Lmao.

What a terrific game.  None of the listlessness from last weekend at all.  Cornell beat them up the ice all night.  It was a brilliant flip of the script.  They only played one bad period all season vs Quinnipiac (3rd period at Lynah).  It's a nice reminder that they have a high ceiling.  Balanced scoring throughout the lineup and great goaltending are a nice recipe.  Finish the deal tonight or else is doesn't mean as much.

From what I read before the game, Q has been alternating goalies the past few weekends with Silverstein starting on Saturday night. It was Pecknold's decision to play him on Friday night this weekend, so he should get some of the blame as well!

It's not like Marinov would've been much better. Silverstein was really only had one bad goal against (the Ashton shot), and Q had some really egregious defensive breakdowns that resulted in prime scoring opportunities

Yeah, it's "crazy" to have no power plays.

How about it's great that the players were so focused on playing their best against a high quality opponent that they played a clean game? Or did he want his guys to go to the sin bin? We could start the next Cornell-Quinnipiac game with giving Q a bench minor just to make him feel better.

i don't think it benefits Q to have the game called loosely. we can bang with the best of them. he'll happily take more penalties if he can get his snipers more time on the power play. glad pelosi was out yesterday. hope he's out the next time we play too.

We have three more years of this 😂
Q announcer came so, so close, but went for the poetic inversion:

"In deep is Hiscock...."

It's a game of inches.
