If you introduce yourself to 12's grandmother as a friend of the guy who spoke to her at the elevator at McGraw House last week, she may be able to give you a ride to downtown Ithaca (not too far from The Commons.)

Holy crap these things are excellent.

Those look delicious but pick your poison.  Try tiny fresh picked purple Huckleberry pancakes with maple syrup.  The tartness of these beauties when they truly explode as you eat them is worth polluting your body with too many carbs.  The negative is that I've not seen them on the menu - just picked them to fry up at home.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

I didn't say it would be easy...

Second Period Programming:

The period begins with the PA announcer asking the owners of two specific cars to move them.

The Rink is pretty close to full, wow.

And we're off!

One thing I appreciate about here is that we don't go insane for routine saves like at Lynah.

...Weren't we supposed to be on the PK to begin the 2nd? Did I miss that?

Was that another fallen neckguard?

Holy crap what a chance. We steal the puck being their net and get a guy in front for a Grade-A opportunity. Stopped, as seems to be the theme of this game, but wow.

The Jocks to my left start a nice loud LET'S GO RED chant. Hell yeah, Jocks. And the Red are playing a LOT better after it. The Ithaca bench is stick banging to that one-two-three tempo too, now. One of presumably the scratches, given the suit and blonde hair, is wandering the seating to assist.

Their 7 scores - that's Hezel, one of their best players. 0-1. Violin celly towards the Pittsford fans.

Girl next to me spilled some of her Drink on the bleachers. Luckily, my jersey seems to be unaffected.

More loud LGR chants. Ithaca seems... stunned? Feels like we haven't gotten ANYTHING going.

Their 2 in the box. For what, no idea, as the Girls were standing in my line of sight. Holding. A goal here would be HUGE but the Pittsford PK is damn good. Speaking of, big shorty chance. Whittaker big stop. One of the Jocks meanders over to harass 2 and gets a talking to by the penalty box guy. Crikey. Yeah, best chances on the Ithaca PP were Pittsford's.

Puck goes deep into the stands to a Pittsford parent. The Girls return with food and somehow encroach even further upon my personal space. (Have you noticed I generally enjoy my personal space?) One is now sitting on my hat and program, which had a solid inch or two of space before.

A flurry of Ithaca chances... ends with a Pittsford three-on-maybe-one play that Whittaker had ZERO chance on. Their 13 - Pollard - pots it into an open net with 9 seconds and change left. Ouch.

End 2nd.
ITH 0-2 PIT.
SOG 24-24.

Third Period Programming:

Suited blond guy - possibly 5? - got the middle section all standing up for the 3rd. This is far more familiar.

Couple spills so far. No calls yet. More LGR chants. Ithaca seems to have a pep in its step.

0-3. It's their 7 again. Good day to have a good day. Refs are talking to the penalty box people... but good goal.

Whittaker with another split-legs save. Damn. And we're off to play cardio rush hockey. Both teams with great north-south chances. Both goalies with amazing saves. We just can't seem to solve their goalie.

A Pittsford player to the box - 13. Loud "you can't do that!" chant followed by an LGR. One of the Girls taunts him and he just waves at her 😂

Ithaca timeout. Ensuing powerplay looks pretty good. No goals, but. There goes 13 on the forecheck.

Our 9 - Cosgrove - with another great break into the net... above the goalie's head. Dammit.

Their 25. It's 4-0. Refs thinking, again, but it stands. Life has drained out of this building. Even the Ithaca team is slowly giving up. The Girls are discussing that they have places to be and are now departing so as to avoid crowds in the parking lot.

Our 9 - Cosgrove - to the box. Pittsford sticks are being BANGED.

That's game.

End 3rd.
ITH 0-4 PIT.
SOG 32-35.

Thanks for the summary of a game I cared nothing about until you started posting. Too bad!

That's the end of the season for the Ithaca high team, sadly. But a damn good run. Unfortunately, a LARGE part of our roster is seniors so we're probably not going to do as well next year. (Sound familiar?)

Anywho, I'll be hanging at the Rink for a few before I haul ass to the bus. Good game, just... couldn't get one past their goalie.

We all can do pancakes with practice.

I only have one apartment to burn down 😅 and I genuinely don't know if it has a working stovetop...
