Not for many years.  If you blocked all Russian IP addresses, I could live with that.

True, but would spammers bother with VPNs?

I was a mod for the Ivy League Sports Board on Voy.  Once you start blocking these overseas IP addresses, they typically give up spamming the site and move on to easier targets.

I think the problem as of current is not so much new accounts as it is the current ones going haywire. Any way to disable cyrillic posting?

Hi Age. IMO this is not the correct solution. Is there really no way to let people register for this site without weeding out spambots? I would rather have (1) new people able to join and (2) spambots than to have neither. I think a better solution would be to allow people to join, but also for mods to be able to ban accounts. Or for some sort of verification system so that the spambots have a harder time registering in the first place. The forum is eventually going to die off if new people can't register.

If it's N/A ignore it.  For whatever reason, the fact that mods don't have this power has never registered on my psyche, oddly enough.
