Was talking with someone at the course friday about this.  Seemed like it was finally getting some traction.

So its already gone out to bid.. time will tell. I wonder what approvals are still pending.

They did a ton of tree work the last couple of weeks. Still have several bunkers left to replace. The ones they removed do change some holes quite a bit especially on 6/8

I would think we will be dodging holes and equipment all summer with this.

I definitely enjoyed playing this course years ago. I'm glad they are keeping it up.

now into June and nothing has happened on the course.  The bid stuff was done in April. Seems like they don't really have the money to continue maybe?

It was awarded "Pending status" as are a lot of other awarded contracts.  In some cases, the delay is caused by losing bidders requesting an appeal to determine why they weren't successful.

A lot (well, enough) of Reunion attendees want to play golf at the course. Be nice if the 3s and 8s attendees this year could play on the new facilities.

Do you really hold up construction if the loser complains and wants an explanation, versus seeking a court injunction to halt work?

upprdeck

This delay was not caused by a loser complaining.

On to the new year.

Looks to be happening at some point this year though.

Nice that Athletics is charging a full rate for membership when the course may be down to 9 holes and other hole torn up all year.

Cop at Lynah

They will not be closing 9 holes at any point in time.  The plan is to close 2-3 holes at a time, starting on the front 9.  Anticipated completion of the project is August. The men's league will have to be split into two nights for this season.  It's really not going to be any worse than when the irrigation was put in, people survived that without much fanfare.

upprdeck

Maybe that is the confusion because you cant have a league where its only 6-7 holes, and people were being told a whole side would be getting shut down at times.

If anything, they should be trying to somewhat limit play this yr with random holes being closed and less room to spread people out.

Maybe members/guests only for the year would help

The project managers I talked to said they hope to get 9 holes done by this year not 18..

Hope for the best, I guess.

Still, if you pay a full fee, and only get to play 15 holes much of the time, thats kind of a rip.

I wonder if fixing the drainage they break the irrigation. Only fitting if it happens.

Cop at Lynah

The irrigation system has been "broke" for damn near 10 years now.  It no longer is automated, so when ever they need to water it's done by hand activating the sprinklers, not ideal when you have such a small grounds crew.  They replaced some sensors at the end of last season, so maybe there will be some improvement with the automation of the system

still a work in progress.

Front nine finally done at least

Lets see what happens on the back now that the main project seems to finished.

More trees cut over the winter as well on the back.

FIxing some of the cart paths would help.

Things went long pretty fast once all the union stuff got resolved.

I no longer live in Ithaca so I would love to see some pictures of the obvious changes that were made.

Maybe do a before and after save of the satellite image??  If you know the course that should be fun.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Cop at Lynah

The Athletic dept did just that, took pictures of holes 1-9 before and after they completed the project.  Not sure if they have published those yet
