Good video of Jim tossing out Snickers.

If CU had any kind of forecheck on the powerplay rather than just letting SLU skate to CU blue line each time, maybe it would still be 3-1.

Kyle Hayton has gained a bit of reputation of being a chirper and instigator for the last few years, but I've counted at least two instances where he's actually went after guys.

I don't think our guys were perfect down the stretch in this game, but I do like how they didn't panic when SLU stormed back into the game. They continued to execute. Good win, and we're now squarely in ECAC first-round bye territory. Remains to be seen how much the PWR will be affected, pending results for the teams around us, but it almost certainly didn't hurt.

Nice effort by Cornell, didn't give up the lead.

After friday's games, all in the top 4 with 19 ECAC games played:

1 Union     29
2 Harvard   28
3 Cornell   27
4 SLU       25
5 Quinn'ac  21

We've pretty much got the first round bye, not all that much difference between finishing 2 or 3 except if the season ended now and the higher seeds won in the first round, the 3-seed gets Clarkson and the 2-seed gets Yale.

The free video was nice but the camera appeared to have no zoom (that got used) and it covered from the red line all the way back to the stands.

Quote from: BeeeejA great second period for the Saints, to be sure - and I don't think that takes anything away from some pretty good play by the Big Red, either. SLU didn't score twice because Cornell fell apart, they just finally woke up. It should be a veeeery interesting third period.
I disagree.  I think Cornell did not play as though they were up 3-0.  This team has to learn to adjust to being up by two or especially, as in this case, three goals.  I still see them going for home run plays/pinching, which when they fail result in odd-man chances the other way.  Under no circumstance should an offensive zone penalty be taken when you're up by multiple goals.  Even on the questionable calls, Cornell shouldn't be giving the refs a chance to make that questionable call.

We always give up a couple of semi-undisciplined penalties per game, that's just part of how the rules and officiating have evolved. As for playing like they're up 3-0, I've seen just as much criticism on this forum about falling back and sitting on a lead (and giving it up anyway) as I have about taking risks. Personally, I'd rather they continue to take risks and try to put the game away, not hope that shifting to 40 full minutes of defense keeps their opponent off the board.

just stop taking penalties when you are up 2-3 goals and controlling the game especially if they are in spots that don't require you to be aggressive.. the good news is that we have jumped on almost every team they last few weeks,  they bad news is we haven't sustained it for 2 periods in a row.

get up 2-3 goals,  give up a sloppy goal, take a penalty give up a PP and suddenly its a game. thats our MO except for the Colgate game.

other than the harvard game its not the risky plays that have come back to haunt us.

As noted by others this video is of mediocre quality. But as of this posting I am still able to access it for free. Jim mentioned a fee to view the archive.

Maybe you get it for free for some time afterwards? When I tried to access it this AM, it was charge only.:-/
