Just a few alum-related updates from NHL training camps:

-Riley Nash and Sean Collins look to have shored up spots on the opening night rosters for Carolina and Columbus, respectively.
-Greg Miller remains on the training camp roster for the Islanders, but is likely to be sent down to Bridgeport before opening night.
-Nick D'Agostino was sent down to Wilkes-Barre by the Penguins earlier in training camp.
-I don't recall seeing it reported here, but Brendon Nash is now with the Rangers organization after signing an AHL contract last month to play in Hartford.
-Ben Scrivens doesn't seem to have any immediate competition for the backup goalie spot in Los Angeles

Anyone know Raymond Sawada's status? I believe he signed a one-year AHL deal with St. John's/Winnipeg in the summer of 2012, but haven't heard anything about him since the deal expired last month.

Thanks for the update. I know at the end of last season, he was part of a trade to the panther's organization, but apparently not part of their long range plans.

The article has been updated since Jordan and I posted.  It originally said "undisclosed injury" but now says it's upper body.

But it also mentions that he missed the pre-season due to a lower body injury. Sounds like he is getting old ::worry::.

David LeNeveau back in Europe this fall? David McKee no longer playing professionally (no HockeyDB entry for the past season)? Being ~30 and not in the NHL, how much longer do you stick in the minors?

Tim Thomas didn't get an NHL sniff until he was 31 I think.

Bobby Orr was gone at 30. But maybe our guys will be late bloomers.

Bobby Orr was gone at 30 after more than a dozen knee surgeries performed using 1960s and 1970s medical technology.  I'm not sure how much bearing that has on ostensibly healthy current players, or on your original "how much longer do you stick in the minors?" question.
