Back in 2009, the (Hilton New York? I think) had some group rate deal for that weekend for Red Hot Hockey attendees, unless I'm completely mistaken.  Any idea if there's anything similar for this year?  Hotels in Manhattan are, uh, pricey.

Friends have said they've gotten pretty good rates at a La Quints located in midtown and I've seen OK rates at the Hampton Inns in Chelsea and SoHo.  No idea what rates will be like for the hockey weekend.

I've run into quite a few places already being full, and those that have space seem to be charging full fare for Thanksgiving weekend. But I haven't checked the ones Al mentions yet.

Should read La Quinta, not La Quints.

Looks like the scalpers have finally caught on as almost all tickets are sold out already and sites like stubhub are flooded with tix at significant markup. ::worry::

As of yesterday the Cornell Club still had tickets in their block.

And just now there appear to be plenty in the BU section available on Ticketmaster. Based on 2 years ago, there are plenty of Cornell fans in the BU sections.

Know how we always talk about, "Well, what is there to do in Albany [Atlantic City] Saturday afternoon before the ECAC title game?" Not that amusing yourself in NYC is hard but if you need an option before Cornell-BU: Matt Moulson and the Islanders play in Newark at the Prudential Center Saturday 11/26 at 1 p.m. Game ends 4 pm, you walk 10 minutes to New Jersey Transit railroad (Newark Penn Station) and from there it's 15-20 minutes into Penn Station and the Garden and dinner on your own or one of the Cornell-sponsored pre-game parties. The Devils often have a college student discount game during Thanksgiving week; I don't know if this is it but I have seen Cub Scout/Boy Scout and church group offers for the game, $40 mezzanine/balcony for $61 seats.

Wait, never mind: According to http://devils.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=73666 the college student night Thanksgiving week is the Wednesday night game. Another is Friday 10/21 7pm when the San Jose Sharks (Douglas Murray) are in town. $35 tickets.

There are a bunch reaching back to classes of the sixties, maybe fifties, around MSG.
