Barry Melrose just called Cornell the best team he's seen this season. He also made a comment earlier: "Cornell has a lot of Canadians . . . a lot."
As for the game, if we lose it, it will because we dominated the first two periods, but as usual, couldn't finish our chances. It looks like we may be held to 2 goals for the third straight game, and we're not going to win many games scoring just two goals. The good news is we are outskating and outplaying the first place team in Hockey East.

Canadians on the Cornell team, Melrose says. I suppose when you have to bang off a lot of hockey games to make a living, you don't have time to study every team in depth. But Melrose knows the game.

Agree, but worth noting that UNH hasn't played since December 11.  Kind of like Cornell's situation in Estero.

Stinky Tom

Cornell has had 33 shots on goal through two periods. More than we've had in any full game since the 5-2 win against Princeton in November.

From a UNH fan on the USCHO forums: "Riley Nash is a beast."

If only our beast scored some more goals ;)

Patrick Kennedy loses control of the puck with a wide open net staring him in the face.

Cornell goal (Collins), 14:48 left.

Great puck possession by Esposito leads to Collins pounding in a rebound!

3-2

Cornell taking UNH to school now: possession in the Wildcats end for nearly 5 full minutes.

And now a goal!  Krueger!

4-2. Tremendous effort!

sah67

4th goal now credited to Riley Nash...he deflected Krueger's shot.

sah67

Patrick Kennedy off for a slash.  UNH pp.

sah67

UNH has a wide open net on the back-door, but hits the post.
