Davenport is rested and ready

We're showing flashes of last year's passing but we're just not crisp yet.  The postponement of Tuesday's Binghamton game really hurt in terms of sharpening the offense.

In that position, you step up and block.  If you want to clear the view you move sideways.  That was a clear duck and if Coach Georgalas doesn't talk to him about it, I'll by you dinner at the restaurant of your choice.  In Ithaca of course (cause your web address looks like Cakifornia**])

Anyone else think we're wearing the wrong shoes?

Either that, or the guys are so used to playing on turf they aren't compeensating for the difference in traction.

God, look at the slashes on Glynn's goal!

One of last year's strengths was Cornell's shooting.  This year we can't seem to put shots on net.  When Glynn made it 7-5 five seconds into the second half, I thought we might be able to get back into it, but sadly not.

This loss really hurts.  If an undefeated season with a win over the top-seed only gets a #4 seed--and even that required bending the criteria by the committee, according to its chairman--we may have to win out to get a top eight seed this year.

get better goalie play and this game is even.. if anything cornell had the better of close in shots.

TimV

It's a long season Al.  If UNC turns into a top 2-3 team, this loss won't look so bad, as long as the team improves and plays a lot better than today.

Goaltending was the most obvious problem, but the shooting was also disappointing, and as I previously said, there wasn't enough offensive movement to create high percentage shots.  I would hav liked to see the Canadian kids Gamble orThomson get an opportunity.  Thomson has size at 6-2 and 185 and (I assume) the Canadian box techniques to get open and shoot quickly from inside. The other Cocoziello is another big attackmanwho might have helped us get inside more.

Siebald is also gonna have to step up his game if he wants to be a Tewaarton candidate.

Seibald is odds-on favorite for the Tewaarton if it's given for minutes on the field.

I also wish the name was easier to spell. I have to stop and think if it's SEI or SIE. Maybe Age should put Max Seibald on spelling list in the lower right corner.

Cornell has a long history of losing early games and finishing strong. In theory that should be less an issue with indoor practice facilities.

Perhaps, but the criteria for selection and seeding is the criteria, and our schedule is no stronger this season than it was last (UNC replaces Duke, Navy in for Notre Dame, and add Denver and Canisius).  I expect this team to improve and play better than today--if someone can play goal; upperdeck's observation above is accurate--but when they crunch the numbers at year end, we'll get screwed again.  In 2005, with three losses, they sent us to play at Towson.  We may get away with one more loss, but anything more and we're on the road, I think.

Lastly, I'd be amazed if UNC winds up in the top four.
