Hockey alum passes away

Few here on eLynah will remember Steve Kijanka, '63, who was first line center my first two years at Cornell.  He, wing Jerry Kostandoff, defenseman Rudy Mateka, and goalie Laing Kennedy were the nucleus of Cornell's first competitive teams.  Kijanka scored 21 goals in 38 games.  The current issue of Cornell Alumni Magazine reports Steve passed away January 17, 2005.

Ah, yes, I remember the three K's, Kennedy, Kostandoff, and Kijanka.  It was good to start winning games after the initial lean years.
