Has anybody else noticed Wieckowski's breakout season?? He is reminding a lot fo Mike Rutter (a player who was always highly touted and skilled, but was only able to figure it all out his senior year). Krysztof has always been one of our top faceoff and defensive forwards, but this year, he is making big offensive contributions. It is very nice to see a player so highly touted as  a freshman, finally putting it all together. Although I was never a fan of his skating stride, he is flying this year, and his laser from the point might very well be mistaken for one of Murray's notorious blasts. Any other suggestions for most improved?

FYI, the scoring on last night's second goal was changed well after the end of the game.  The goal goes to Downs (his first collegiate goal), with Wieckowski getting the assist.

At this point, I can't think of anyone more deserving of most improved honors.

Can't argue with Krzysztof for Most Improved.  He's having a helluva year.

Krzysztof has had an amazing year for sure, but I think that Palahicky will be there as well for most improved.  I've seen a marked improvement in his game.  He scored 5 points in 27 games last year, and has 9 so far this year in only 19 games.  He's also provided a nice physical presence on the checking line.   Just food for thought.

I definitely agree that Krzysztof is having a great year and that he's shown a lot of improvement. However, I'd have to give Most Improved honors to T-Bell. He's really had a breakout year. Aside from beginning to contribute offensively he's become an integral part of the defense.

I saw Krzysztof go after the puck after the goal and bring it back to the bench,  I wondered what he could want with the puck!?!?  He must have known it was Downs that scored the goal and he saved the puck since it was his first career goal.  That's pretty classy ... :-)

Ahhh...noticed this too but thought that he was saving it cause it was the goal that broke his previous "goals in a year" record. Now that I think about it tho I think that he surpassed that before this week-end. That was classy!

Agree, that's the kind of work that means the team is together. Good coaching and good players.

Hey Melissa, it's nice to know others are not putting their whole attention on the Super? Bowl, although it is quite a good game. Let's go Pats.

Grady said that Wieckowski pointed to Downs immediately after the goal as a way of saying the goal belonged to him (Downs).

Haven't really formulated an opinion on the Most Improved issue, and probably won't until the end of the year, but it's impressive that there are so many worthy candidates.  Says a lot about how young our team was last year and how well they've come into their own since.
