18th in the RPI. I guess there's a minuscule chance at a bye if the committee likes us but I can't imagine they will given our Q1 record.

Marshall is trailing UCF, so if that holds it could help us creep up.  However, Georgetown is leading UConn, so that hurts unless UConn drops a ton with a loss.

Does somebody want to write a "You are the committee" for soccer?   :-*

it's bouncing around so much - we're back to 20 with remaining games that make us more likely to fall than rise, imo. we were 23 in the coaches' rankings going into the game so i don't see any path to top 16. so it goes. at least we should play at home in the first round again.

The committee tends to have a very different opinion than the coaches poll so I don't think it's entirely out of the realm of possibility. But, in practice, a first round game against someone like Lafayette isn't a whole lot different than a bye, but it does suck for the guys who appear to be nursing injuries like Miller and Johnson.

Looks like the dust settled with us at 19. If we pretend that RPI is the be all and end all, that would have us hosting the 46 seed in the first round. That said, there are a number of automatic bids outside of the top 50. We'll probably face one of them, especially since there are a few in the northeast to minimize first round travel which i think is a factor in placement:

55. UC Irvine (an early season road loss for us so we shouldn't get cocky)
63. Siena
68. Farleigh Dickinson (in NJ)
71. Elon (in NC)
84. Western Michigan
90. Lindenwood (in Missouri)
97. Cleveland State
107. Lafayette
