No big surprise here with our ranking.  Remarkably seven ECAC schools got votes!  That's one more than Hockey East, WCHA, two more than CCHA, and considerably more than AHA or CHA.

Personally I'm amazed at our ranking, and I don't want to hear anybody complain this year that we aren't getting our due.

0-1-1 against a poor team, at home, and #15 is sheer silliness.

"Poor" isn't how I would label WMU.  After all, they did receive votes, if you like to put leverage into these things.  But my measuring stick is that they took the '02-'03 Cornell team to OT.  ;-)  "Average" or "Decent" I would accept.  Heck, Harvard got shutout at home to a team I would put below WMU, so...

But yeah, I agree that the ranking is nice.  Shows what a long memory the pollsters have.  You put in good showings for 2 straight NCAA tourneys, and people remember you, despite a team turnover of 1/2.

I think the polls also show that no one really knows what to make of the ECAC thus far.

I couldn't find if this got posted last week, but while checking for the new poll, I noticed the 11/3/03 USA Today Poll:

The USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Preseason weekly Top 15
men's college hockey poll with first-place votes in parentheses,
total points and previous ranking:
