Yale moves the ball 75 yards on their first drive for the TD.  Cornell held them 3 times inside the 10, but Cowan snuck across for the 1 yd score on 4th.

The Red have gotten a couple good kick returns and they sounded pretty good on their first drive.

The first quarter ends with the same score.  Cornell stops Yale and gets great field position (own 45) to begin the second qtr.

At the half, Yale 7 Cornell 0.  Consdiering that Yale has scored 90 points vs Cornell the past 2 meetings, that's great for the D.

The Red drove deep into Yale territory late in the half but MacMeekin missed a 31 yd FG.

The Yale announcers thought MacMeekin's kick might have been partially blocked.

After nearly 45 minutes of playing time, we attempt a pass requiring the ball to be thrown more than ten yards downfield::rolleyes::--or, at least, so say the Yale announcers.

Yale scores 14 in the third to make it 21-0.  Joshua Johnston opens the 4th qtr with a 28 yard TD run.

14:51 to go, Yale 21 Cornell 7.

One play after a long Razzano-Hardaway connection, Razzano is intercepted.  With about 8:50 to go, still 21-7.

Knox goes 70 for a Yale TD on the next play but it comes back on a hold.  Whew.

Yale 21 Cornell 7, final.

Cornell's defense was able to hold Yale for most of the day -- I think the 21 points is deceptively high.

Cornell offense had a lot of trouble.  Razzano is smart and he has a lot of options, and the backfield has good balance between Blanks and Johnston.  It's a case of a well balanced atack that just doesn't have enough talent to play with the best teams in the league.

Around the league, Penn (very surprisingly), Princeton and Dartmouth all got hammered out of conference and Harvard bombed Brown (Columbia plays tonight), so right now I'd say Harvard, Yale and Penn are the class of the Ivies.

The next four weeks Cornell hosts Colgate, Harvard, Georgetown, and Brown.
