Tennis doesn't get much attention on this forum, but it's worth noting that Harvard's Cooper Williams has just transferred to Duke. Williams entered Harvard last fall as the No. 3 ranked junior player in the world, and he led Harvard to its best season ever and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. I had just listened to him being interviewed on a tennis podcast, and he was talking about how great the college experience was, especially playing for Harvard. I then did a Google search on him and saw he had entered the transfer portal and then that he had announced he was going to Duke.
The Cornell men's tennis team has been doing well in recent years, too, making the NCAA Tournament the past two years and ending this year as the No. 30 ranked team in the country. And it was Cornell's top player, Radul Papoe, who was named the Ivy League Player of the Year, not Williams. Papoe was only the second Cornell player to win that award. He was seeded 9-16 at the NCAAs, where he lost in the first round, but his seeding guaranteed him receiving All-American honors, the first Cornell player to achieve that feat. Papoe is a junior, so hopefully he will return for one more year at Cornell.
