Driving directions: Ithaca to Providence

don't bother taking the pike to 495 to 95 on a Friday afternoon to get to Providence. There's a stretch (exit 2) on 95 that's always under construction + the Friday afternoon traffic will slow you down...this is from experience of being on that road at 5 in the afternoon way too many times...

My...umm...adoptive family (residents of Providence)...is sending Melissa directions (both directly to their house and to the rink) from the pike...sometime later tonight, so she can share those too...

When we went in 1980, we took 79 -> I-81 -> 17 -> I-84 -> CT 34 -> I-95.  CT34 is a tad winding, but it keeps you out of Hartford and Waterbury.

Got to admidt there are a lot more freeways in CT now than there were then, tho.  :-)
